Activist urges CP To Order Crackdown On Kidnappers, Armed Robbers In Delta

A rights activist in Delta State, Comrade (Amb) Derrick Oritsematosan Agberen, has called on the Delta State Commissioner of Police; CP Ari Muhammed Ali, to order a brutal crackdown on kidnappers, armed robbers that have become a terror in the state.

Agberen said this in a statement made available to media houses.

While commending the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force in the state for doing their best tirelessly to arrest crime in the state, he charged them to do more in arresting the recent trends of kidnapping and armed robbery in Warri, Effurun, Ughelli North and South, Udu and others places.

In his words, “I must commend the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command under the sagacious leadership of the Commissioner of Police; CP Ari Muhammed Ali, for the tireless efforts he has been putting to fighting crimes across the state; but a lot still need to be done.”

Activist Agberen registered his fears on behalf of Deltans on the recent insecurity situation in the said areas.

According to him, the recent trend of kidnapping and armed robbery has made the said areas chaotic, saying that in the past few weeks several persons have been shot, kidnapped and have paid whooping sums as ransom.

He continued: “This recent operations have become worrisome as it is more like a gang operation in convoy with flashy cars in Warri, Effurun, Orhuwhorun, Usiefurun, Agbarho, Otokutu, Ugbomro, Egbo-Urhue and other towns.”

Comrade Agberen also appealed to the Delta State Commissioner of Police to order a crackdown against kidnapping and armed robbery activities in these affected areas as residents are being kidnapped and robbed daily, both in the day and night.

He also urged the Delta State Commissioner of Police to seek an approval from the Police Force Headquarters to suspend the use of tinted glasses from vehicles in the states because it has aided the operations of criminal activities during the day time, therefore making crime to be unnoticed.

Furthermore, Comrade Agberen appealed to the Delta Commissioner of Police to publish security tips for Deltans across the State as they continue their day-to-day life and urged them to be tactical in their approach by protecting themselves from this deadly criminal elements while on duty.
