N1.4Bn Bank Fraud: EFCC Moves Atumeyi, NNPP’s Kogi Assembly Candidate To Lagos

The New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, candidate for the Kogi State House of Assembly, Ismaila Yusuf Atumeyi, who was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Abuja for a mega bank fraud, has been moved to Lagos.

The politician cum cyber-fraud suspect was flown into Lagos in the early hours of Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in continuation of the investigation into the scam. He is billed to be interrogated by another team of operatives at the Lagos Command of the Commission.

Atumeyi and two others, Joshua Dominic and Abdulmalik Salau Femi, a former bank employee, were arrested by the EFCC for allegedly hacking into the system of a commercial bank and defrauding the institution of over N1.4billion.

The EFCC had in a statement on Tuesday November 1, 2022 disclosed that it recovered N326million and $140,500 USD from Atumeyi during a sting operation at his hideout in Queens Estate, Gwarinpa, Abuja, while $470, 000 was recovered from Abdulmalik in Lagos.

Troops Kill 4 Terrorists In Sambisa Forest

In continuation of their massive onslaught on terrorists enclaves in Sambisa Forest, troops have killed four more Boko Haram terrorists in the Bama axis of the forest.

The troops of 21 Armored Brigade Forces of Operation Hadin Kai achieved this feat in conjunction with the CJTF hybrid force on May 14, 2024.

The terrorists were killed when the troops stormed Garin Fallujah in Ukuba general area in Bama LGA in the combined operation when droves of the terrorists fled in different directions.

Amidst the uneasy calm restored to the area after the operation, the troops, perceiving the unpredictability of the situation, maintained their readiness to advance and strike at the slightest emergence of the need to do so.

Man strapped with explosive found in a Nigerian Bank in Plateau

A middle aged  man is reportedly found in a Nigerian Bank in Dadin Kowa town in Jos South in Plateau state with belts packed with what appeared to be a Person Borne Improvised Explosive Device(SPBIED).

It was gathered that he was apprehended  on May 13, 2024, when the suspect was found with an apparent bomb strapped to his body to detonate at the Bank. 

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region that the vigilante Security at the bank prevented the  attack after they spotted the suspects. 

They immediately apprehended him before he could achieve his aim. The suspect was later surrounded by an angry mob who demanded that he should be killed immediately. 

It is, however, not clear if the suspect is linked with the Islamic State of the West African Province or Boko Haram. He was taken to the Police station where he was undergoing investigation.

Boko Haram terrorist Alhaji Wosai Surrender to troops in Borno

A Boko Haram terrorist identified as
identified as Alhaji Wosai have surrendered to the Nigerian troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

It was gathered that the terrorist surrendered on May 11, 2024, to the troops of 21 Armored Brigade after escaping from the enclave of the insurgents in Garno village in Borno State.

Intelligence sources informed Zagazola Makama that he surrendered with 1ak 47 rifle and 1 Magazine filled with 7.63MM 39 MM Special ammunition.

The militant is in the military custody for profiling.
