Zulum and the quest for good leadership

Since the emergence of Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum as a governor of Borno state, things had turned out differently from the way he displayed a zealous leadership style in transforming the lives of masses of Borno state, as well as restructuring the deadly communities which were ruined from the results of Boko Haram terrorism for over a decade. He came with unfamiliar efforts in today’s democracy, which led him to accomplish several projects and change the poor lives of those refugees who fled from their origin due to insecurity measures across the state.

Indisputably, Zulum’s act of serving humanity is determined as part of an objective in running a good leadership and thereby rebuilding the state in another formation. Governor Zulum had struggled to change the security strategy of the state, he works with Nigerian Forces for resolving the lingering issues of terrorism that deviated Borno state from attaining proper development. He, in his unwavering efforts, provided sustainable development and embraced welfare to the people of local areas to have access to easier living and empowered them to learn self-reliance skills for easily alleviating poverty, which was the background cause of insecurity in Borno state.

Cantankerously, the quest for good leadership also touches the most needed part of Borno state, which was the transformation of education. Undoubtedly, Governor Zulum stands upon giving better education to the people of Borno state, he began by rebuilding public schools under basic and higher standards, and he also introduced the newly-built mega schools with modern facilities of learning for the indigenous students of Borno state and also maintain a constant payment of scholarship for students in higher levels, which bring about ease in handling their academic issues. The academic tutors undergo rigorous examination and others failed to reach minimum requirements and such results in suspending teachers from different levels, this is considered a factor is shown by Governor Zulum to avoid the inclusion of quack workers in the field of education. Governor Zulum also proved the quest for goodness in leadership just in a single term of office, likewise, the narrations in the educational system of Borno state have witnessed a critical change which may transform the outcomes in the nearest future.

Undoubtedly, Zulum’s concern for Infrastructural development made the world believe in his desire to establish an exempt leadership in the history of the Borno state. It was known that the state faces a cruel crisis of terrorism and some areas were destroyed as masses fled to survive in other places. After the coming of Governor Zulum, he started to implement projects of house-to-house rehabilitation after the recovery of peace in those areas. Thousands of people have relocated to their origins and that was among the typical plans of Governor Zulum to avert the rise of creating refugee spaces around Maiduguri or any other places and to send those victims back home. Good leadership requires actions not words, and from the loss of words from Governor Zulum, his actions appeared loudly and the people of Borno state commended him over his quest for good leadership.

In every tactical designation to create a selfless government, looking after the authorities and financial services to tackle the act of corruption, which mostly affects the economic impact of government. Governor Zulum’s frequent supervision of workers and contractors for any given responsibility by the state government has empowered the growth hope of good leadership around the state. He, in addition, usually paid an unscheduled visit to public working places for scrutinizing the places and how workers handle their duties.

Zulum, in addition, raises an alarm to workers with poor discharging of duties across the state as many of them face a trial of suspension and project contractors were also not left behind as he attends the places to witness by himself and say a remark or take an action regarding any mishandling of works, it is, therefore, incumbent upon those charged with the responsibility of bringing about the much-needed development in the society to emulate the good leadership style of Governor Zulum for the betterment of all and sundry.
