Nigeria: NAF multiple Strikes Kill 30 Boko Haram, including 3 Commanders, injured 40 others

Multiple airstrikes by two Nigerian Air Force, NAF, Super Tukano jets, have killed a total of 30 Boko Haram terrorists including three Commanders in Sambisa Forest, Borno state northeast Nigeria.
The terrorists were neutralised on January 1, after the NAF Jet rain bombs in four camps of the terrorists which included; Bula Jitoye, Halka Kojoye and Halka Alai, Bulamaye in Bama Local Government Area.
This was less than 24hours, after another intense attacks between rival factions of ISWAP and Boko Haram broken that lasted 14hours at TOUMBUN ALLURA and KANGAR areas.
The deadly rival attacks was spearheaded by Ali Ngulde in company of other top commanders comprising of Abu Nazir, Muke, Ba’a Isa, and Mallam Abubakar.
NEWSng gathered that the coordinated joint air and ground offensive, came barely hours after the terrorists deadly clashes within the general area.
Military sources noted that One of Commanders simply referred to as Captain or Medical Doctor was killed by the airstrikes in the camp of Bula Jitoye.
He also noted that the two others, (names yet to be comfirmed) were killed in Halka Kojoye and Halka Alai.
The sources said that one of the terrorists was heard in an intercepted communication, saying that “We are killing the ISWAP and seizing all their weapons. But our major problem is that the jets are killing us too.
“On January 1, 2022, We lost about 30 fighters including 3 of our commanders; Even Doctor was killed in the strikes. We want to fight them but we are afraid of the jet,”said one of the insurgents.

The Nigerian Army troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in collaboration with the police repelled a bandit attack on Soro Daya village in Kankia Local Government Area.
Zagazola learn that the incident occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on Sept. 19 when suspected bandits invaded the village.
The troops were promptly mobilized to the scene. On reaching Soro Daya junction, the team was confronted by the hoodlums, leading to a heavy gun duel.
“The bandits damaged the front tyre and side glasses of a police Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) patrol vehicle before retreating into the forest.
“One female victim, Nabiha Mani, aged 15, was rescued with a gunshot wound on her thigh. She was rushed to the Comprehensive Health Centre in Matazu for treatment and later referred to the Orthopaedic Hospital, Katsina, for further medical attention,” said the sources.

Troops neutralise armed militia in Plateau after failed escape attempt

Troops of 3 Division/Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) have neutralised an armed militia in Plateau State after he attempted to disarm a soldier during an operation.
Zagazola gathered that the incident occurred on Sept. 5 during a follow-up operation to a hideout in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
A day earlier, on Sept. 4, troops had arrested the militia at Kaskra with an AK-47 rifle and 11 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to involvement in several criminal activities within Barkin Ladi and volunteered to lead troops to the hideout of his cohorts to recover weapons.
Sources said that while the search was ongoing at the hideout, the militia made a desperate attempt to snatch a soldier’s rifle in order to escape.
“He was swiftly overpowered and neutralised by the troops in the process,” one of the sources said.
The remains of the deceased suspect were deposited at a hospital morgue, while follow-up operations are ongoing to apprehend his accomplices and recover more weapons.
The sources reaffirmed military’s commitment to sustain the momentum against armed militias and other criminal elements in Plateau, stressing that no effort would be spared in restoring peace and stability across the Joint Operations Area.

Troops arrest terrorist informants, logistics suppliers in Sokoto

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have arrested two suspected terrorist informants and logistics suppliers in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended on Sept. 4 during a fighting patrol to Yaka village by a quick response team.
The suspects, according to the source, are in troop custody for further investigation and action.
