Boko Haram killed 35 ISWAP terrorists in latest rival clashes, destroy two enclaves

The Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād terrorists group have dislodged the Islamic and Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), in two of its strongholds in the North East of Lake Chad, after killing atleast 35 Jihadist.
The sustained intensified attacks in the rival camps was spearheaded by the Boko Haram Leader, ABU UMAIMAH or BAKOURA DORO in company of four Commanders and several other fighters.
The attack which began in the North of Kayowa and, Toumbun Gini, in the North East of Lake Chad, led killing of the 35 ISWAP fighters while many others were injured.
Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad that the ruthless Boko Haram Leader also seize large number of weapons from the ISWAP terrorist, as they withdraw from their camps.
The sources said that a major market of the ISWAP at Toumbun Gini, had been captured by the JAS elements who are currently in the location.
Zagazola Understand that the fleeing terrorists were pursued by the rival faction towards the south of Kangarwa and Dogon Chuku in Baga LGA.
The Boko Haram terrorists had within the past weeks, inflicted heavy casualties in the camps of ISWAP in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region, forcing ISWAP to take defensive positions.
On Dec. 31, attacks between rival factions of ISWAP and JAS that lasted 14hours at Toumbum Allura and Kangar areas, had led to the killing of scores fighters.
He explained that the sustained attacks force the ISWAP fighters to held a meeting
at Tumbun Murhu with
high profile ISWAP leaders comprising, Abubakar Chad, Bashir Ukasha and Abul Kaka- Alias Sa’ad in attendance.
According to the sources, Major issues discussed during the meeting was the inability of their organisation to carry out major attacks during the Yuletide season as ealier planned which was attributed to the clashes and attacks on its camps by the Boko Haram factions.
“The terrorists finally resolved to carry out series of attacks against the Boko Haram positions in the coming days in the Lake Chad axis and Gaizuwa, in Sambisa forest.
“The ISWAP are also seeking the support of foreign ISIS mercenaries from Mali, Burkina Faso and Somalia to lend them a helping hand in order to defeat the Boko Haram whom they considered as their immediate latest enemies,”said the sources.
Recalled that the Boko Haram fighters have directed it men to be determined and show courage in sustaining its fight against ISWAP while the ISWAP group vowed to fight more with the JAS faction than the security forces.

Gunmen Attack Senator Natasha Akpoti’s Family Residence in Kogi

Unknown hoodlums wielding cutlasses and firearms reportedly attacked the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the early hours of Tuesday in Obeiba-Ihima area, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the Chief Security Officer to the Senator, Yakubu Ovanja, reported the incident to security authorities, revealing that the attack occurred around 1:00 a.m. and involved at least three armed individuals who vandalized the building, including shattering window panes.
Following a distress alert, a team of security operatives from Okehi Division swiftly mobilized to the scene. While no casualties were reported and no arrests have been made, the premises were documented and preliminary investigations have commenced.
The motive behind the attack remains unknown as investigations continue.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, a prominent political figure in Kogi Central Senatorial District, has not issued a public statement as of press time.

Elderly Man Abducted by kidnappers n in Sabon Gari, Zaria

In a disturbing incident early this morning, an elderly man was kidnapped from his residence in Hayin Ojo, Sabon Gari, Zaria.
Police sources said the attack occurred at approximately 0130hrs when a group of armed men invaded the area, firing sporadically, and abducted Alhaji Saidu Mai Gold, aged 65.
The source said that the victim’s relative, reported the incident to the Sabon Gari Police Division around 0800hrs. In response, the Division’s Patrol Team was swiftly mobilized to the scene.
Efforts are currently ongoing to locate and rescue the victim.

Two Suspected Kidnappers Arrested in Lere LGA, Kauru

Security operatives in Lere LGA have successfully apprehended two suspected bandits following a tip-off from local hunters.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects, identified as Sani Liman, 23, of Unguwan Fa Raminkura, and Murtala Magaji, alias Seto, 25, of Dambata Galadimawa Village in Kauru LGA, were arrested on April 15, 2025, at approximately 1330hrs.
The sources said Police personnel from Saminaka acted swiftly and arrested the suspects
Preliminary investigation has indicated that the two men may be linked to recent kidnapping activities in the region.
Police sources said that they are currently in police custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
