Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has urged Nigerian military personnel to be more patriotic in discharge of their duty as a work toward bringing peace across the country.
The governor made a plea today in commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration at the Government House event center in Damaturu.
He reviewed the state to signify more witnessing relative peace after years of Boko Haram insurgency that affected most parts of the Northeast sub-region.
“Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen heroes and to all Nigerians, particularly those of us in Yobe State, and this signifies how peaceful Yobe State is today.
“We are able to celebrate and commemorate the fallen heroes, and going forward, we expect more patriotism and nationalism to ensure that peace rains in Yobe State, as we were relatively enjoying our peace today,” Buni said.
Special prayers were offered by both Christian and Muslim military clerics for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes and for the peace of Yobe State and Nigeria as a whole.
