Communal Clash in Faskari, Katsina State, Leads to Destruction of Property
By: Zagazola Makama
Tensions escalated on April 6, 2025, between the residents of Doma ‘B’ and Balandawa villages in Faskari Local Government Area, resulting in a communal clash and widespread destruction of property.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the conflict began when vigilante men from Doma ‘B’ Village mobilized and accused the villagers of Balandawa of harboring armed bandits.
The vigilantes alleged that the bandits frequently use Ruwan Godiya and Balandawa villages as routes, especially following a recent peace accord between the two villages and the bandits.
In retaliation, the vigilantes attacked Balandawa Village, setting fire to huts, destroying food items, and killing or driving away livestock. The violence prompted a swift response from the Nigerian troops.
By the time security forces arrived, normalcy was restored, and the situation was brought under control. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts to gather intelligence and monitor the area are being intensified to prevent further clashes.
