Four Kidnapped Niger Citizens Regain Freedom in Katsina after Peace Truce with Bandits

Four kidnapped victims from Niger Republic have been released unharmed in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State following a peace dialogue between the Jibia Security Committee and Fulani leaders in Kwari Village.

It was gathered that the security committee met with Fulani leaders to assess the effectiveness of the ongoing peace accord in the area.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the engagement led to the unconditional release of the following victims: Musa Usman, Ahmed Mustapha, Mamman Audu and Abdullahi Hanzar.

The victims, all from Dakwaro and Tawa villages in Niger Republic, were immediately taken to a general hospital for medical attention before being handed over to Commissioner Dan Issa of Niger Republic for reunification with their families.

Gunmen Kill Fulani Man in Barkin Ladi, Plateau

Suspected gunmen attacked Kampani village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State on Tuesday night, killing a resident.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the e assailants stormed the village at about 10:40 p.m., shooting sporadically.

Upon receiving a distress call, troops of Operation Safe Haven, swiftly deployed to the scene. However, the attackers fled into the bush before security forces arrived.

During a search of the area, security personnel found one Alhaji Mohammed Adams, a Fulani man, who had sustained gunshot injuries while standing in front of his house.

He was rushed to the General Hospital in Barkin Ladi, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.

The deceased’s family declined an autopsy, and his body was released to them for burial according to Islamic rites.

Security Operatives Arrest Four Suspects for NNPC Pipeline Vandalism, Recover Firearms in Enugu

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested four suspects for alleged vandalization of public utilities and unlawful possession of firearms at Aguamede Forest, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.

The suspects, identified as Odo Chinedu, Ejike Onunze, Fidelis Eze, and Ogenyi Tobechukwu, all from Omulor Mgbiji Eha-Amufu Village, were reportedly caught in the act of cutting galvanized NNPC pipelines when security operatives operatives stormed the scene at about 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was launched following credible intelligence on the activities of pipeline vandals in the area.

During the operation, the police recovered the following items from the suspects: Three (3) single-barrel guns, Twelve (12) live cartridges, One (1) sledgehammer, One (1) saw, A bottle containing a substance suspected to be hard drugs, Charms and two (2) cutlasses

A police have confirmed that the suspects and recovered exhibits will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further discreet investigation.

Wife Stabs Husband to Death in Gwoza, Borno State

A 44-year-old woman, Falmata Muhammad, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband to death in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that he incident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. when Falmata Muhammad attacked her husband, Muhammad Mallum, 50, with a knife, inflicting a fatal chest wound.

The victim was rushed to the General Hospital, Gwoza, but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor. His body has been deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.

Following the report from a relative of the deceased, Police detectives from Gwoza Division arrested the suspect. The murder weapon was recovered as evidence.

Police sources said a full investigation into the motive behind the attack, with plans for diligent prosecution has been lunched.
