Second Term: Borno APC Asks Tinubu Not to Leave Their Son, Shettima in the Lurch

All Progressives Congress (APC) Stakeholders in Borno State have called on President Bola Tinubu not to leave their son, his Vice President Kashim Shettima in the lurch, asking him to tag along with him for his second term in office.

Rising from a meeting at the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri on Sunday, the Stakeholders said both Tinubu and Shettima are a great team. They expressed total and unalloyed loyalty and support to the Federal Government of Nigeria under the able leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

The communique issued at the end of the meeting has the following resolution: The
total and unalloyed loyalty and support to the Federal Government of Nigeria under the able leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. The Meeting also endorsed the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu Administration. The meeting wished Mr President and VP God’s guidance and protection, and a successful tenure.

The Meeting also commended the commitment of the Vice President His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima GCON to the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The meeting called on Vice President Shettima to remain loyal to his Boss Mr President, and continue to serve diligently to promote the laudable policies of Mr President. The meeting prayed for Mr President to retrain His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima as his VP for his second term.

The Meeting expressed total confidence in the administration of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum CON, mni, FNSE, FNIAE, and charged the Governor not to be distracted in his noble campaign of recovering Borno from the shackles of insurgency, terrorism and criminality.

The Meeting resolved that Borno State remains a progressive state under the APC, and urged the people of Borno to remain committed to the progressive ideals that have served the people of Borno since independence. The meeting reaffirmed that the APC shall remain the indisputable platform for democratic politics in Borno State. It would be counterproductive to deviate from the principles and manifesto of the APC, and therefore urged party faithfuls to remain firmly faithful and resolute in pomoting the APC governments at State and federal levels.

The Meeting resolved that Borno shall remain in APC no Merger or change of political party.

The meeting called on party faithfuls not to engage in actions that will dent the image of the APC. The progressive spirit that has influenced Borno politics since Nigeria’s independence should be sustained consciously and in unity and solidarity.

The Meeting called on APC Leadership to continue to strengthen party machinery and internal democracy so that the party will continue to wield power in Nigeria.

The party called on faithfuls to discontenance the ongoing moves by some elements within the party to cause disunity in the ranks of the APC. The party in Borno State is not ready for any such moves in the meantime.

9. The Meeting called on the Federal Government under the watch of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR to continue to support programmes that will promote development, security and development in Borno State.

The meeting appealed to Mr President to continue the oil exploration in the Northeast region especially at Kolmani and the shores of the Lake Kchad. In addition, the meeting further appealed to Mr president to invest in road infrastructure in the Northeast region to make it more secure and prosperous.

In attendance were almost all notable members of the party with the Vice President Kashim Shettima, the only known big gun absent.

Christians in Plateau to march on Easter Monday in remembrance of over 80 members slaughtered by bandits between march and April this year

The Christians on the Plateau will on Easter Sunday embark on a long walk against the injustices of insecurity being meted out to them by bandits

As a matter of fact the march is a critical point on the announcement listed in most churches during services this morning April 13th 2025.

Christians were encouraged to share the message among their platforms all over the State with a theme: “THAT THEY DIE NOT IN VAIN”.

This protest march which is the second in the series in the state is meant to sensitize the entire world against continuous Killings of residents in Bokkos council area of Plateau State, and in Nigeria.

The Church on the Plateau, under the leadership of the Church Denominational Leaders and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), is calling on all Christians to arise once again in unity, grief, and righteousness to protest against these lingering wrongdoings.

A statement by the Rev. Gideon Para-Mallam for the Planning Team stated that between March 27th and April 2nd, 2025, nearly 80 innocent lives were brutally cut short in Bokkos council Area and this is not to include Bassa council area and other parts of Nigeria.

“As a mark of honour for the dead and a cry for justice, the Church is organizing a 2nd Peace Walk to demand an end to these senseless, unprovoked, and continuous attacks in Plateau State and other parts of Nigeria.

“We must not be silent. We must not allow their blood to cry out unheard.

“We invite every Christian on the Plateau to come out en masse for this solemn but powerful procession all dressed in black.” Said Para-mallam

“The walk will be expected to take place Monday, April 21st, 2025 Easter Monday at about 9am in the morning.”

On dress code, he went on “All Christians are to wear black to Church on Easter Sunday 20th and during the Peace Walk on Monday 21st. Black, Red and White Clothes.

“These three Colors represent a visible symbol of our mourning (Black), Red (End the killings and (White) Peaceful resistance to impunity.

“The Gathering Point would be PRTV Roundabout Junction while the destination would be the new Government House, Little Rayfield, where we will lay our collective grief before President Bola Tinubu through the Governor of Plateau State Barr Caleb Manasseh Muftwang and demand decisive action to end the killings.

“This Peace Walk is a holy protest. It is a call for peace, justice, and security for every life on the Plateau and across Nigeria.

“We will walk for the victims. We will walk for the future. We will walk for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

BCDC VANGUARD CALLS FOR ARREST OF FULANI LEADERS OVER CLAIMS MADE DURING RECENT NEWS CONFERENCE

The Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC) Vanguard has demanded for the immediate arrest, interrogation and prosecution of leaders and members of the Plateau State chapter of the Coalition of Fulani Registered Organizations (COFRO).

The chair of the vanguard Farmasum Fuddang through a signed statement said today that the recent news conference by some renegade fulani portrayed their brutal community as victims of the ongoing violence against residents on the Plateau.

BCDC Vanguard finds the statements made by the group to be provocative, inciting, diversionary, and deeply insulting to the true victims, whose mass graves are scattered throughout the State.

“This rhetoric reveals the actual perpetrators of the violence—identified Fulani terrorists—who have claimed more than 10,000 of our members over the past 15 years.

“This history of violence has often been misattributed to ‘unknown gunmen’ by genocide deniers, politicians, and conspirators trying to obscure the truth.

“The statement made by the group through its Chairman, Garba Abdullahi Muhammad, during a widely reported press briefing in Kaduna on April 8th, claims that Fulani herders in Plateau State are victims of “continuous aggression,” “injustice,” “criminality,” and “bias.”

“The statement implicates joint security task forces, whose officers have also fallen victim to Fulani militancy, including during the recent mass invasion of five Bokkos villages that resulted in the massacre of over 50 locals on April 2nd. It further demands the unconditional release of all arrested and detained suspects.

“BCDC Vanguard observes that such declarations often accompany mass killings attributed to Fulani militancy, exerting unnecessary pressure on security agencies to release all suspects, including those with confessions.

“A notable case is Jibrin Musa Goje, who confessed in a taped interview to leading the massacre of over 300 Christians during attacks on 36 villages in the 2023 Christmas season. Despite being arrested and presented to the media, Goje and other suspects were released without trial, despite strong incriminating evidence.

” The release of Mr. Goje and many other suspects poses an ongoing threat to both survivors and security operatives involved in their arrest. We assert that the persistent attacks in Bokkos, Bassa, and Mangu have involved the active participation of previously arrested Fulani militants, threatening not just non-Fulani residents but also the broader Fulani community that opposes their violent agenda.

“The demands by the so-called Coalition of Fulani Registered Organizations (COFRO) for the release of “all” suspects seem to indicate a calculated plan to perpetuate these threats and maintain a climate of terror in our villages.

“This exposes the true identity of the terrorists and their financiers, revealing their intentions to undermine the sovereignty of the Nigerian State.

“We urge the DSS, Police, Army, and all law enforcement agencies to regard this statement as a crucial lead toward identifying and dismantling the perpetrators behind the ongoing violence and to ensure the safety of innocent citizens.”

Thw chairman Fuddang had Amb. Duwam Bosco as secretary with seven other members including: “Machief Ayuba Barrs. Charles Amagong,John Apollos Maton Nantok Dashuwar, Cornelius Makopson, Austin Kamshak and Daniel Malgit Agandu”.
