KACRAN Condemns Killings of over 50 persons in Zamfara

By: Michael Mike

Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has condemned the recent  Zamfara State killings and calls on bandits to stop killing innocent Nigerians.

A statement on Tuesday by the National President of KACRAN, Mohammed Bello said: “As the good people of Dauri, Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State are sorrowfully mourning the death of over 50 persons  brutally killed by armed bandits in the State, we members of Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN), as a peace loving Herders Association in the country, wish to sadly  condemn the aformentioned barbaric, senseless, act in the State and strongly call on them to immediately stop killing innocent Nigerians in the  name of taking vengeance against the volunteer groups who they claimed are illegally attacking, stealing their livestock and killing their families.

Bello said the above call was made due to the following: It is neither rationale none ideal to take revenge against people who are not the actual ones that attack you in the initial stage; even if they are the ones, what they ought to do is to report them to legal authorities who have the constitutional backing to arrest the culprits and bring them to book.

He added that their retaliatory attack in the villages and towns for whatever reason, is uncalled for and  a crime again humanity; they should  know that two wrongs will never make a right and so their attacks on innocent people is making the gravity of their offence more  grievous than that of the volunteer groups.

He said: “We are strongly warning them to run away from criminality or any suspicious behavior. And we as well advise them to be law abiding citizens who will be given our security authorities maximum support and coorperation by reporting any person or group of people that they come to understand are committing or breaking Nigeria’s law and order.

“At the same time, we call on volunteer groups who are mainly responsible for the bandit’s reprisals to  stop  attacking, stealing livestock and killing innocent people in the name of protecting their communities.”

KACRAN also commended Zamfara State Government for cautioning volunteer groups in the State who were described as mischievous or trouble makers to stop attacking innocent Nigerians who’s attacks always resulted to harsh bandits attack in some villages and local towns where innocent people mainly old, women and children used to be the victims.

Bello added that: “Likewise, as a strategy to  successfully end the North West and Central insecurity problem, we are passionately appealing to Federal Government, as a matter of utmost importance to establish appeal funds one in each of the two named regions, to help  metigating the loss by victims of the attacks.

“The foundation that we  hope  to be placed under the supervision or able leadership of trustworthy Nigerian philanthropists  who will judiciously and transparently manage the foundations by providing empowerment, relief materials and other social services to the affected people by the heinous activities of the volunteer groups and bandits in the said areas.

“We gave  this humble advise, after being thoroughly studied and critically assessed the vital role the North East Development Commission is vigorously playing in the North East region, through building houses, providing relief materials/palliative and Youth empowerment that  yielding a positive result by drastically reducing the issue of insecurity in the North East region.

Troops neutralize 13 bandits in Plateau offensive, recover weapons and logistics items

By: Zagazola Makama

The sustained military offensive against armed groups in Plateau State has recorded a significant breakthrough following the neutralisation of 13 suspected terrorists in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas.

Security sources said troops under Operation Wutan Daji, on April 9, intensified clearance operations across identified terrorist corridors, including Daba and Seri villages.

The operation, which commenced at about 8:30 a.m., involved the establishment of blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and Odare Forest, where troops made contact with armed elements moving on motorcycles.

The suspected terrorists were reportedly engaged in a firefight, resulting in the neutralisation of several of them, while others escaped with injuries.

Following exploitation of the area, troops confirmed that about 10 terrorists were neutralised during the encounter.

Items recovered from the scene included two motorcycles, five containers of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) of 25 litres each, one AK-47 rifle, and a magazine loaded with three rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Military authorities said the operation remains ongoing as troops continue clearance actions and exploitation of surrounding forests believed to serve as escape routes for armed groups.

The latest development reflects an intensified push by security forces to disrupt mobility corridors used by armed groups operating across Plateau’s forested and border communities.

The operation also illustrates a shift towards more aggressive blocking and interception tactics aimed at denying militants freedom of movement and access to logistics supplies.

Authorities have assured that further updates will be provided as operations progress in the affected areas.
