Kaduna Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper After ₦2 Million Ransom Payment

The Nigerian Police Force, Kaduna Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper, identified as Nafi’u Musa, alias “Weezy,” 27, of Mando, Kaduna, after a ransom payment of ₦2 million was traced to him.
According to police sources, operatives apprehended Musa on March 8, 2025, at about 3:00 p.m. following a technical analysis of his mobile phone numbers.
The suspect was allegedly involved in the abduction of a victim in Katsina State, whose family paid the ransom for their release.
Meanwhile, a mob attack was reported on suspected thieves in Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State has left one person dead and two others injured.
The incident occurred in the early hours of March 8, 2025, after villagers spotted three individuals behaving suspiciously.
The suspects identified as Ussaini Ibrahim and Isa Magaji managed to escape, while Lawal Rua, 30, Turange Magaji, 28, and Aminu Adamu, 25, were caught and severely beaten.
Security forces from Ikara Division responded to the scene and rushed the injured suspects to Amana Hospital in Dalawan, where Aminu Adamu was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. The remaining two suspects are receiving treatment under police watch.
Authorities have launched an investigation to track down the escaped suspects and identify those responsible for the attack.
Normalcy has since been restored to the area.

Fulani youths attack brothers in Niger

A violent attack has left two brothers seriously injured in Niger State, with one of them losing his right hand following an assault allegedly carried out by a group of Fulani youths.
The incident occurred on July 10 at Sheshi Dama Village in Bida Local Government Area, after the victims, identified as Baba Gozan and Wada Gozan, both of Fulani Camp, Etsugaie Village, visited a female friend in the area.
According to a report by their father, Mohammed Umar, the two brothers were attacked by four young men allegedly from Fulani Camp in Kafa Village, Bida LGA. The assailants, identified as Goga Maigari, Kura Maigari, Rani Maigari, and Ado Yambe, reportedly assaulted the victims with machetes and sticks.
During the attack, Baba Gozan’s right hand was severed, while his brother Wada sustained deep injuries to his right hand and head.
The victims were immediately taken to the General Hospital in Agaie, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
The attackers fled the scene and remain at large, but efforts are ongoing to apprehend them. Authorities confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.

A tragic incident occurred in Oju Local Government Area of Benue State on Thursday, as a Junior Secondary School 3 student allegedly beat his teacher to death during a confrontation over a seized school cap.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, identified as 16-year-old Friday Ogamude, a student of UBE Oju Centre, confronted his teacher, Mr. Oyibe Oyibe, aged 35, over a cap the teacher had confiscated since May 2025.
According to the sources, the confrontation quickly escalated when the student allegedly struck the teacher during a heated exchange. The teacher reportedly slumped on the spot.
He was immediately rushed to Amara Hospital, Oju, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The body of the deceased has been photographed and deposited at the General Hospital, Oju, for autopsy, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Police say the suspect was arrested as the command condemned the act and assured the public that justice will be served.
Investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Police repel ambush in Delta, kill six suspected kidnappers, recover arms
The Police in Delta have nutrialised six suspected kidnappers and armed robbers following a failed ambush on operatives of the Command’s Special Assignment Team.
Zagazola gathered that the incident occurred at about 8:35 p.m. on July 8 along the Patani–Ughelli Expressway, near the Unenurhe axis, while the team was escorting six suspects arrested in connection with kidnapping and armed robbery.
The sources said that suspects were being transported from an arms recovery mission when the team came under heavy gunfire from unidentified hoodlums, in what appeared to be an attempt to rescue the detainees.
The suspects, earlier arrested in Ebrumede area of Warri on July 6, were identified as Solomon Danisco alias Piccolo, Nelson Jacob, Oruma Saturday, Whiskey Rufus alias Asawana a notorious criminal from Ewu community on the command’s watchlist Olise Jude, and Precious Urhobowin.
Police had earlier recovered two locally made guns and 12 live cartridges from the first three suspects, and another two firearms with nine cartridges from the remaining trio.
During the exchange of gunfire, all six suspects sustained gunshot wounds inflicted by the assailants’ attack and were rushed to the General Hospital in Ughelli, where they were later confirmed dead by the attending physician.
Preliminary investigations link the suspects to a criminal syndicate responsible for high-profile kidnappings and armed robberies in Ughelli and surrounding communities.
Notably, the group is suspected to have masterminded the abduction of pharmacist Marrha Mudiaga Ese on June 9, who was released on June 24, and the attempted kidnap of one Benson Isigna in April 2025, during which his Toyota Corolla was stolen at Iyede community.
The corpses have been deposited at the General Hospital morgue in Ughelli, while further investigation is ongoing.
