Live in peace and pray for Nigeria – Yobe Council Chairman

By: Yahaya Wakili

The Chairman of the Caretaker Management Committee of Nangere local government, Alhaji Salisu Yarima, has called on the people of the local government to live in peace with one another and pray for the country, Yobe state, Nangere local government, and Tikau emirate council for peace and progress.

The chairman revealed this at Nangere Eid-el-Kabir praying ground in his Sallah message to the people of the local government area.

He said, Almighty Allah, bring us to rain season and call on farmers to go back to farming. He noted that there is something our farmers are doing that is wrong, namely, buying a farm in front of a cattle route or road, and warned them to desist from doing that.

Alhaji Salisu Yarima also calls on cattle rearers not to enter farms deliberately; let them live in peace with the farmers. There is a place where they allocated purposely for cattle routes.

“With the assistance of the World Food Programme (WFP), as such, we are not among the beneficiaries. Before, there were grants given to Fune and Jakusko local government areas; now the turn is for Nangere local government, Yarima said.

He urged the farmers and the people of the local government not to rely on this WFP food assistance and abandon the farm, noting that this is wrong; go back to the farm; this is something for empowerment; it will end.

“If you farm, you will get food to eat, and you will also get money to pay the school fees of your children, as well as to improve your economy, he said.

The chairman used the forum to call on the people of the local government to evacuate the drainage to avoid overflooding and outbreaks of diseases such as malaria, vomiting, daria, and others.

Alhaji Salisu Yarima also calls on the people to pray for our pilgrims to perform the hajj and return safely, and also pray for His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni to complete his second tenure successfully.
