NCoS Arrests Officer Over Missing Arms and Ammunition.

The Controller of Corrections, Kogi State Command, David Igbago has ordered the immediate arrest of an officer of the Command for complicity in the disappearance of two riffles and some quantities of ammunition belonging to the Command.
According to a statement by the Kogi State Command Public Relations Officer, Nihi Sesan, the Officer was eventually put through administrative mechanism before being handed over to relavant security agency for further interrogation.

He said the missing items were discovered during a routine monthly audit of arms and ammunition in the Command’s armory.
Sesan said while the suspect is being grilled, the State Controller has vowed to ensure that no stone will be left unturned in unravelling the circumstances surrounding the criminal act and bringing the culprits to justice.
The Controller assured members of the public of his irrevocable commitment to the security of Kogi State in general and the Custodial Centres in the state in particular.

Foiled Kidnapping Attempt in Katsina As Bandits Flee After Gunfight, One Killed

A kidnapping attempt was foiled in the early hours of April 5, 2025, in Gidan Yan Ali, Kurba Village, Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the armed bandits, believed to be part of a larger criminal gang, attacked the village around 2345hrs, setting fire to corn stalks and attempting to abduct women and animals.
Security forces were deployed to the scene to engage the bandits leading to a heavy gunfight
Although the team successfully repelled the assailants, the bandits shot and killed one Murtala Dayyabu Sidi, a 40-year-old male, before fleeing into nearby bushes.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of the security forces, the kidnapped women were rescued unharmed, and the stolen animals were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Armed Bandits Attack Maikwama Village in Katsina, Four Killed

A violent attack by armed bandits occurred in Maikwama Village, Dandume Local Government Area, Katsina State, on the night of April 5, 2025.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the assailants, riding on motorcycles, stormed the village around 2305hrs, initiating a ruthless attack on the residents.
The security forces engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, forcing the attackers to retreat. However, the attack left four people dead, and two others sustained bullet wounds.
The injured victims have been taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend the bandits responsible for this tragic attack.

Two Men Killed by Angry Mob in Sandamu, Katsina State

Tragedy struck on April 6, 2025, in Katsayal Village, Sandamu Local Government Area, as two men, Gaddafi Isah, aged 35, and Badamasi Isah, aged 30, were brutally attacked and killed by an angry mob from Yakawada Village.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the two victims had driven their father’s vehicle to the outskirts of Katsayal Village to practice driving when they were accused by the mob of stealing livestock.
In a violent response, the mob surrounded the men, beating them severely, resulting in various degrees of injury.
The victims were rescued by the security forces who were deployed to the scene and rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Sandamu for treatment, but they were later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The vehicle the men were driving was also damaged during the altercation.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the attack.
