REPS Member Ajirioghebe wants his constituents to pray for their leaders

Member representing Isoko North federal constituency in Delta State Engr Jonathan Ukodhiko, has called on Isoko people to pray for their leaders.

He made the call recently during an interview with newsmen in his home town Erawha-Owhe in lsoko North council Area of Delta State, while, distributing Christmas gifts to Party executives, Leaders, and support groups in his constituency as part of activities marking the yulitide season.

Ukodhiko emphasized the importance of prayers for those in authority adding that it is the key to unlocking doors of opportunities and surmounting impossible situations as well as guiding leaders to the right path.

The member enjoined legislators representing the people to always have the fear of God in them by ensuring that they do the needful which is to protect the interest of the people they are representing.

The reps member also, noted that it was for the above reason he contested for the position and called on all political leaders and the people to embrace love and unity as it is the foundation of growth and development.

Also speaking during the occasion, the PDP chairman Isoko North council Area and the former chairman of Delta State land Allocation committee Elder Godwin Ogoruba commended the gesture by the Honourable member, stating that it is the responsibility of political leaders to reach out to the people they are representing.

Ogoruba who confirmed that this gesture is inbuilt also said the good gesture by the Pastor turned politician is not a favour but the right thing to be done by every leader.

Ogoruba called on the Federal Government to ensure an effective measure for better distribution of palliative to Nigerian citizens instead of unilateral cash transfer as the money does not get to those who are in need of it.

Items distributed by the reps member included 600 bags of rice, 100 bags of salt, some cartons of Indomie noodles and sets of wheel chairs.

Earlier, 200 bags of rice were distributed to both Isoko North/South party members before the gathering of the general public.

Responding on behalf of the Beneficiaries, the leader of market women of Otor-Igho, Uyoyo Akpojene, expressed gratitude to Ukodhiko for extending his hand of fellowship to them and prayed God to continue to guide him as he pilots the affairs of the constituency.

Police arrest suspected gunrunners, recover eight firearms in Kaduna

Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command have arrested two suspected gunrunners and recovered a cache of locally made weapons.

According to sources, the detectives acting on credible intelligence stormed Kurmin Kogi Village and apprehended the suspects Isah Bello, and Sa’idu Haruna, both of Damdami Village, Richifa Ward, Soba LGA.

The sources said the suspects confessed to being in possession of firearms and led investigators to their hideout, where four locally made guns and four locally made pistols were recovered.

The sources added that the suspects are in custody as discreet investigations continue.

Man attacked with hoe over alleged affair in Gombe

Security personnel in Gombe have arrested a man for allegedly attacking another with a hoe over claims of adultery.

Sources told Zagazola Makama the incident occurred on Thursday at about 6:30 p.m. in Shongo Kagadama Village, Kwami Local Government Area, when one Musa Usman allegedly confronted Abdulmumini Misa, 38, accusing him of having an affair with his wife.

The suspect struck the victim on the head and injured his fingers on both hands, leaving him with serious wounds.

The victim was taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, where he is receiving treatment.

The sources say the suspect has been arrested and is under investigation.

Bandits attack Zamfara village, abduct residents; 4 rescued, 9 security operatives missing

Armed bandits in large numbers attacked the outskirts of Adabka Village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Thursday night, abducting several residents.

Zagazola learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday at about 8:32 p.m., prompting a swift response from joint security forces stationed in the area.

A fierce gun battle ensued, leading to the rescue of four abducted persons. However, two Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel and seven members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) were reported missing after the clash.

Security sources said search and rescue efforts are underway to locate the missing operatives and any other abducted villagers.
