Troops arrest ISWAP Collaborator with large amount of money, drugs meant for terrorists

The troops of Sector 3 Mutli National Joint Task Force(MNJTF) have arrested one Mr Barmu Alhaji Garba, a suspected terrorist logistic supplier with a large amount of money and drugs heading to the ISWAP enclave in Wulgo village in Ngala LGA of Borno State.

It was gathered that the suspect was arrested by Intelligence operatives in conjunction with members of CJTF while conducting routine security search at Charlie 19 on vehicles and passengers bound for Cross Kauwa and Baga towns.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect was arrested on allegation that the monies are suspected to be for ISWAP terrorists.

“During search on the suspect, items found on him include assorted animal drugs comprising 10 Ashoxy, 3 livertong and 1 Diminor plus, 3 blanket, 2 turbans (Rawani), 1 knife, 2 pairs of new clothes, a small mirror and N1.5million, carefully concealed inside an empty four liter gallon.

Security agencies have been placed on high alert following reports that a large number of armed Fulani herder bandits have arrived and set up camps in the valley between Ogbaulu Atakpa in Agatu and Akpete in Apa Local Government Areas of Benue State.

Sources told Zagazola that personnel of the Nigerian Police, Civilian JTF, and other tactical teams have been proactively deployed to the affected areas to forestall possible attacks on surrounding communities.

Authorities said monitoring and surveillance have been intensified to ensure the safety of residents and prevent any disruption to local activities.

The sources urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies. Further developments are expected as operations continue in the area.

Police rescue abducted student, arrest suspect in Nasarawa

A 14-year-old student, Dauda Salisu, has been rescued unhurt by security operatives in Gitata, Nasarawa State, following his abduction by a suspected criminal.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the victim, a JSS2 student at Ube Gitata, was reportedly abducted on Feb. 2, 2026, beside a local mosque by one Jamilu Salisu, a male from Dutsinma, Katsina State.

Security operatives quickly trailed and arrested the suspect at the Gitata riverside, while a second suspect identified as Zailani SNU remains at large.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and ensure the safety of the community. Authorities have called on residents to provide timely information on suspicious activities.

Chinese national arrested for alleged indecent assault, rape in Ogun

A Chinese national, Li-jian Yuan, 50, has been arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for alleged indecent assault and rape of a 23-year-old woman, Wemimo Adebowale.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, who works at Zhiylian Global Quarry, Kobape, was apprehended by detectives following a complaint lodged on Jan. 30, 2026. Investigations revealed that the alleged assault occurred on Jan. 28, 2026.

The suspect is currently in police custody pending further investigation and is expected to be arraigned in court soon.

Authorities have assured the public of diligent follow-up to ensure justice is served in the matter.
