Troops neutralized unconfirmed numbers of ISWAP in Kareto

The Nigerian troops of 146 Battalion Operation Hadin Kai deployed at Damasak on Monday neutrralized unconfirmed numbers of ISWAP fighters.
It was gathered that the troops who were on fighting patrol in the general ambushed the terrorists and neutralised them after a heavy gun battle while others escaped with bullet wounds.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation followed a
credible information on the presence of ISWAP terrorists around Kareto general area in Mobbar LGA.
The sources said that exploitation was carried out after the fire fight towards the terrorists withdrawal route during the exploration, it was discovered that there were several signs of evacuated bodies with traces of blood while of them was left behind.
The troops also recovered some Ak47 rifles and ammunition while there were no casualties on the side of the troops.

A 24 hour curfew has been imposed on the entire Oro- ago District of Ifelodun council Area, Chairman Abdulrasheed Yusuf said in a statement recently.
The curfew which took effect from 6 am on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, was imposed in a coordinated effort by the council in conjunction with security agencies to put terrorists in disarray, take them out by combing the area and protecting lives and property of residents.
The statement signed by Abdulquadri Jimba who is the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Ifelodun council area noted that “Within this period, there will be no human or vehicular traffic in the entire district.
“This is in support of the ongoing security clearance operation in the area. Further reviews of this measure will be communicated,” the statement noted.
