Tuggar Appoints Ahmed Sule as Special Assistant on Diplomacy and Foreign Relations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has appointed Ambassador Ahmed Sule as Special Assistant on Diplomacy and Foreign Relations.
Sule is a Political Science graduate from Bayero University, Kano, and a retired Career Diplomat with over 30 years of experience.
Prior to his retirement from the Nigerian diplomatic service in 2024, he worked in various Directorates and Divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja. Ambassador Ahmed Sule also served at the Permanent Mission of Nigeria to the United Nations, New York, USA; the Embassy of Nigeria, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and the High Commission of Nigeria, Ottawa, Canada. He was also Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria in London, United Kingdom.
Ambassador Sule was appointed Principal Envoy of Nigeria to the Republic of India with concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal by President Mohammadu Buhari in 2021 and served meritoriously in that capacity between 2021 and December 2023.
While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the seasoned diplomat on his appointment, he is expected to bring to bear his wealth of experience in the implementation of the Honourable Minister’s foreign policy drive.

Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Recover Rifle and Ransom Money in Kano

The Nigerian Police Force in Kano have arrested multiple suspects in connection with the kidnapping of Dr. Muhammad Bello Yushau of Zakirai, Gabasawa Local Government Area.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the breakthrough came following a report filed by the victim’s family, on March 8, 2025.
Acting on intelligence, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit analyzed the mobile phone number used for ransom negotiations, leading to the arrest of one Tukur Lawal, also known as Maikudi, from Kore Village in Sumaila LGA on March 18, 2025, at about 1:30 a.m.
Further investigations led to the arrest of additional suspects on March 19, 2025, at around 10:00 p.m. The individuals taken into custody include: Ado Usman (30) of Makunturi Village, Habiba Shuaibu (18) of Munzuru Village, Ummulkhairi Ibrahim (19) of Garun Mallam LGA and Sanusi Surajo (27) of Falgore Village, Doguwa LGA
During the operation, police recovered a locally made rifle and a cash sum of ₦4,840,000, believed to be ransom money paid for the victim’s release.
The police have intensified efforts to apprehend other accomplices as the investigation continues.

Two Injured in Another Vehicle Crash at Karu Bridge, Abuja

A serious multiple motor accident occurred at Karu Bridge, Abuja, on March 20, 2025, at about 2:30 p.m., leaving two individuals critically injured, less than 24 hourz after the first incident which claimed six lives with 18 vehicles destroyed.
Sources said that the incident occurred when a truck loaded with NPK fertilizer lost control and rammed into two other vehicles.
As a result, two individuals sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to Asokoro General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Efforts to clear the road obstruction are ongoing,

Fire Outbreak in Abuja Claims Three Lives, Two Others Injured

A fire outbreak at Waru Panteka, Abuja, has resulted in the death of three people and left two others severely injured.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on March 20, 2025, at about 5:00 a.m.
The fire destroyed several shanties and properties worth millions of Naira. The three victims who lost their lives were: Nasiru Sani (30 years old) from Zamfara State Umar (surname yet unknown and One other unidentified individual, burnt beyond recognition
Additionally, two others Batura Ali and Mubarak, suffered severe burns: Both were rushed to the National Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Sources said that fire fighters successfully contained the fire and prevented it from spreading further. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing.
