Two Farmers Killed in Monguno Attack by Fulani Hardsmen

Two farmers have been killed in an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State, according to the state police command.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday at Naira Bush, where the victims, identified as Alhaji Saleh and Wanomi Aji were working on their farms.
They were reportedly attacked with cutlasses, bows, and arrows, sustaining fatal injuries to the abdomen and chest.
The troops of Sector 3 MNJTF and Operation Hadin Kai visited the crime scene and transported the victims to the General Hospital in Monguno, where they were confirmed dead.
The perpetrators remain at large.

Police Arrest Teacher for Murder of 14-Year-Old Almajiri in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a teacher, Mal Musa Wada, for the gruesome killing of a 14-year-old Almajiri, Bashir Adamu, whose body was found mutilated in Jikas-Dabaja Village, Gwaram Local Government Area.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the he incident was first reported on March 12, 2025, when officers at Gwaram Division discovered that the victim had been murdered, with his head and private parts severed.
After thorough investigations, Mal Musa Wada, 35, was arrested on March 18.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime and led detectives to the location where he had buried the victim’s severed body parts.
The Police sources have assured the public that the suspect will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of the investigation.

Lagos Bolster Security Amid State of Emergency in Rivers State

The Lagos State has intensified security measures across the state in response to the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State by President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Zagazola Makama was informed that the emergency declaration follows prolonged political instability and attacks on oil pipelines and critical government infrastructure in Rivers.
Thr heightened security efforts aim to safeguard the general populace, Very Important Personalities (VIPs), and critical government and private-sector investments in Lagos. As part of these measures, Marine Police Patrols and Surveillance teams have been deployed to vulnerable riverine areas and waterways.
Additionally, Tactical Police Teams, Mobile Police Squads, and personnel from the State Intelligence Department have been stationed to protect key assets. The police have also engaged the Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft, Apapa, to initiate joint patrols between Marine Police detachments and Naval personnel.
Furthermore, tactical squads have been deployed across riverine communities, waterways, and other identified high-risk locations. Foot patrols, vehicular surveillance, and intelligence gathering are ongoing to ensure maximum security and prevent any spillover of instability from Rivers State.
The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents that the situation is being closely monitored and that proactive measures will continue to protect lives and property.

Adamawa Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Recover Firearm in Song LGA

Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command, in collaboration with local hunters, have rescued a 60-year-old kidnap victim, Babawuro Abdullahi, from his captors in Dikir Hill, Dumne, Song Local Government Area.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation, based on credible intelligence, led to a coordinated raid on the kidnappers’ hideout. After a fierce gun battle, the victim, who had spent 17 days in captivity, was rescued unhurt. A single-barrel gun was recovered from the scene.
The suspects managed to escape with gunshot wounds, and efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend them. No casualties were recorded on the side of the operatives.
The sources said that the Anti-Kidnapping Unit is handling the case for further investigations.
