13-year-old Boko Haram escapee rescued in Borno, security forces launch search for others

A 13-year-old boy abducted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists has been rescued by security operatives in Borno, while efforts are underway to locate other victims taken during the same attack.

The boy, identified as Hamadu, was discovered with a deep cut on his left leg in a farmland at Koshebe area of Mafa Local Government Area. He had reportedly escaped from captivity after falling off a motorcycle used by the terrorists to transport abductees from Nganzai LGA to an unknown location.

Zagazola learnt that following the report made by a good Samaritan, a patrol team led by the Officer-in-Charge of Kaleri Outpost, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, was immediately dispatched to the scene.

The victim was rescued, photographed as part of evidence documentation, and rushed to the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri where he was admitted and is currently responding to treatment.

His statement has been recorded, while the Divisional Police Officer in Nganzai has contacted his family.

Meanwhile, a coordinated search-and-rescue operation is ongoing in the area, involving troops of Operation Hadin Kai, police tactical teams, CJTF, and hunters, to trace and rescue the remaining victims believed to have been abducted during the same incident.

Buni approves the appointment of Gadaka as the new Emir of Gudi

The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, Chiroman Gujba, has approved the appointment of Hon. Alhaji Samaila Ahmed Gadaka as the new Emir of Gudi.

The appointment of Hon. Samaila Ahmed Gadaka follows the passing away of the late Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwu Ibn Madubu Khaji, after a long protracted illness.

His Royal Highness, the new Emir, Hon. Alhaji Samaila Ahmed Gadaka, was a member of the House of Representatives, Fika/Fune Federal Constituency, from 2011 to 2019.

The new emir also served as Hon. Commissioner in the Yobe State Government from 2007 to 2010. He is also the chairman of the Governing Council, Federal College of Education, Yawuri, Kebbi State, from 2024 to date.

The new emir was a banker by profession; he served in the Standard Trust Bank, now the United Bank for Africa (UBA), where he rose to the position of business manager.

His Royal Highness, the new Mai Gudi, Hon. Samaila Ahmed Gadaka, until his appointment, was currently the Chairman of the Local Government Project Monitoring and Evaluation Committee.

Until his appointment as the new Emir of Gudi, Hon. Samaila Ahmed Gadaka was holding the traditional title of Yariman Gudi.

Six kidnapped law students rescued in Benue–Taraba border operation

At least Six kidnapped law students who were abducted by armed men along the Jootar–Wukari road, a known buffer zone between Benue and Taraba states were successfully rescued by security forces.

Zagazola Makama gathered that the incident occurred on July 27 at about 3:30 p.m. when armed assailants intercepted a commercial bus with passengers, diverted the occupants to an unknown destination, and disappeared into the forest.

The vehicle, a white Pullo bus was later recovered and returned to the police station.

In response, tactical teams comprising the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Operation Zenda, Strike Force, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and the Hunters Squad were immediately deployed to the forest area for an intensive rescue operation.

The sustained operation led to the safe rescue of all six abducted students on August 1 at about 8:00 a.m.

The victims, who were identified as law students, were profiled and reunited with their families.

The Senator representing Bauchi South at the national assembly, Senator Shehu Buba Umar has accepted the calls by the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bauchi North Senatorial District to contest for Governorship come 2027.

The Director General of the campaign for the actualisation of Sen Buba’s Gubernatorial ambition, Alhaji Muhammad Sade (Usman) accepted the calls on behalf of the Senator during a town hall meeting held on Saturday by the members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bauchi North Senatorial in Azare.

He appealed to members of APC to maintain peace with all other aspirants within the party.

“Let’s respect other aspirants, such that anybody who win the primary election can have will be assisted by others, so we must value and respect each other”, he reasoned.

Muhammad Sade also called on party members to commence looking for delegates for ahead of the party primaries.

“It is now that we have to look for those that have votes. I call on our esteemed supporters to start mobilizing for delegate”, he emphasized.

He also advised social media handlers (citizens journalist) to avoid creating problems for personal gain, adding that social media some times create a lot of problem within and out side the party endorsed Senator representing Bauchi South, Senator Shehu Buba Umar for Bauchi Governor come 2027.

Baushe Daily Times reports that members of the APC gathered in thousands during the meeting in Azare during which they unanimously agreed to support Senator Shehu Buba for Governor come 2027.

Earlier in a welcoming address, former majority leader in the Bauchi state house of assembly, Hon Tijjani Mohammed Aliyu, the choice to support Sen Shehu buba Umar’s Governorship ambition was due to his concern and care he has for the people of Bauchi state.

“He respects us, he values our people politically and he also call on party members to respect each other because politics shouldn’t be considered as a do or die affair”, he said.

Also speaking, Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam charged the youth to cast their votes for the youth only and avoid voting older politicians who will always be going abroad for medical attention.

He therefore, appealed to members of APC to mobilised people to support Sen Shehu Buba for Governor.

Among those who attended the town hall meeting include state assembly member Azare/Madangala Hon Zakariyya sale maigero, comr sabo Mohammed S A to Sen Shehu Buba on media and communication, Hon kasuwa Shehu Damana, Hon Adamu Fanta Misau, Hon maiwada Misau,Hon Mohammed Hassan, Barr Muktar Umar, Alhaji Nura Adamu among others.
