20 year old arrested for termination of the life of three years old girl

A 20 year old young man whose name is Bakura has been arrested in Maiduguri for the suspected termination of the life of a three year old girl living with his parents.
The young man suspected to be the father of the tiny tot born outside marriage has been arrested by the jere police division while preparing to bury the child recently.
Trouble started when he allegedly had a fling with the mother of the girl Fatima Musa who decided to keep the baby instead of terminating it to avoid embarrassing the parents of the young man since they were not married.
A reliable source who is also a rights activist told this reporter that
“we were informed that the girl died as a result of brief illness but upon our arrival at the scene we noticed that the girl was cleaned and preprepared for burial which was contrary to our directive on not tempering with the corpse.
“We also observed blood coming from her nose. The primary suspect is the father whose name is Bakura approximately 20 years old and his parents/siblings who were the custodian of the girl.
“We are suspecting that the girl was killed because of the hatred the father had for her and her mother. We re yet to confirm how she died because the autopsy result is not yet out.” Said the source.
Upon hearing the matter the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in maiduguri deployed an investigation officer to investigate the matter and act accordingly.
After preliminary investigations, the matter was referred to the Nigerian police who arrested and detained the suspects for further investigation.
State coordinator of the NHRC has since been following on the case to ensure justice to all parties.
Meanwhile the matter has since been referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigerian police for further investigation.
