2023: Dino Melaye goes in the way the cookie crumbles

The 2023 Presidential election will continue to be a reference point for academia in so many ways. But people like former senator Dino Melaye and his foot soldiers may soon be forgotten since their positions as oppositions in the PDP campaign council seemed to have ended from the time they attempted to derail the process of announcement of result alleging figures from the different States should be uploaded on the server of the commission and have not in real time brought out facts to their allegations of results missing.

I could recalled Dino Melaye on the political podium abusing the personality of people and creating hatred instate of addressing a situation at the selling points of his principal. I remember how he hurled abuses on my principal and try to sell hatred on his personality but failed to make impact as his rented crowd would not repeat those hellish words. I recalled how he stage a walkout and how he tried to draw sympathy from the media when he spoke shortly after he stage a walkout from the collation Centr in Abuja.

Like I always tell many people before the election. I said election is about the person you know who knows you and not about being a blind horse riding. It is about following your conscience and not allowing some individuals manipulating your thinking. When the APC go for the muslim-muslim ticket, it was a child of necessity and only people who have come to the radar would understand the politics that informed the choice.

There are certain details I need not to go deep into but I have seen this day coming when people would begin to realize how they allow others to blond their thinking. ‘When a blind man leads the blind, they all fall into a pit.’ These are not directly my words but it is biblical. Everyone has his own area of professionalism. For example, I am a journalist by profession, if I suddenly said I am a medical doctor and calls on patients to take certain operations medically on them who knows that I am actually a pen pusher and not a medical doctor and without deep reasoning gave their bodies for my blade, the issue is that they have sign for a suicide.

Many have followed people who are not politicians infact people who have resolved that politics is a dirty game but still could not give deep reasons for such claims other than the politicians are corrupt. The last time I check of people fainting in the process of questioning, many of those are not politicians but civil servants who took oaths of service to do well for the common good. Indeed, corruption as Mr. Daniel Richard would put it is in the bloodlines of everyone who chose the way that seems right to do and get corrupted. 

When Tinubu and Kashim Shettima came out to campaign, they told everyone who has an ear to hear that they know the road. I personally did an analysis of those words and compare to the others who did not give me the assurance of knowing the road and I made my decisions. Through the tick woods in the process I personally debated my points on way I go the way I choose. There was outward burst and some people thought I was worst than an unbeliever but I took it as a way of life for a man to choose his target and pursue it. Like the lion I remained focus in my endeavors.

Taking this turn on this piece is to remind some people who called me when I replied Dino Melaye and Reno Omokri in the piece that trend with large number of readers with many whose path on the back shall remain an indelible mark of respect to show for the courage. Melaye and Ihedioha as well as some party agents alleged manipulation of some figures, calling on the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) Prof Mahood Yakubu to review them. But they never urged Professor Mahmud to review the figures in Lagos, Abuja, Yobe, Katsina, Gombe, Adamawa, Bauchi, Taraba, Kano and the entire southeast where Tinubu failed to deliver.

Dino Melaye may go into history with the pain of regrets of his short coming and unstable mind but we extend a hand of friendship and asked him to take courage and approach those he offended. Tinubu, Shettima’s hands are wide open to embrace a prodigal son unless he wants to go in the way the cookie crumbles.
