2023: Governor Buni urges Politicians to focus on issue base Campaign in Yobe

By: Yahaya WakiliGovernor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has call on politicians cutting across all the political parties to avoid all forms of violence, inciting and hate speeches in the course of their campaigns.

The governor made call when flagging-off the construction of 54 kilometers Ngalda-Mutai road to be construction by the North East Development Commission (NEDC).

“We should concentrate on campaign based issues that would promote our dear state and also urged the people to continue to pray for improved security in our state, the North-East and Nigeria as a whole.” he added.

He said, the construction of this project would obviously open up the rich agriculturally endowed communities and also to facilitate easy movement of people, goods and services to stimulate more agricultural, commercial and economic activities in the benefiting communities.

“This project is a commendable drive by the North East Development Commission which conforms to our development pursuit in the state, therefore, such complementary intervention would certainly go along way in impacting positively on the lives of our people.” Buni said.

Speaking earlier, the MD/CEO of the North East Development Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Goni Alkali said this project is one of the significant intervention start by the NEDC is execution as part of its mandate towards recovering, reconstruction, civilization, renewal and expansion of the North East region.

“We are gradually witness in development objection of establishing of NEDC by President Muhammadu Buhari been achieve, adding that, the construction of the 40 kilometers road from Gujba – Mutai along the Gujba-Ngalda road start earlier is currently going on.

Alhaji Mohammed Goni Alkali further said the 54km road was awarded at the cost of #12.2billion, noted that, the project was intended to improve security, economic and social wellbeing of the people of the state.

Also speaking, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Disater Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq said the purpose of establish NEDC is to develop and construct the North East region on what is happening during the insurgency period.

The Minister was able represented by the Director of Humanitarian, Alhaji Ali Grema said the North East Development Commission have just started developing the North East and this is to go along way in the North East.
