2023: Kwankwaso’s supporters are violent people – Jos Residents

Residents of Jos, the Plateau state capital have recalled the official visit of the NNPP Presidential Candidate to the state where he commisioned it’s campaign office, stating that the NNPP has no supporters but violent people, who are bent of causing crisis in the name of politics ahead of the 2023 general elections.

According to the residents, the recent visit of the NNPP Presidential Candidate to commission it’s office in Jos depicted a picture of leader, who may promote violence in the country if elected.

This according to them is owing to the type of supporters he surrounded himself with and who are ready to spill blood anytime for his ambition.

The residents said that his coming to Jos appeared like a General leading an Army of violent people to war as his supporters were seen carrying stick and other dangerous weapons and also intimidating and beating people who did not show support to NNPP.

Although Kwankwaso has said that he was in Jos to commission the NNPP office, some of the residents said his coming was rather an embarrassment as it generates negative picture on the political lane.

“Unfortunately, the coming of Kwankwaso has generated a lot of  negative reactions. While some lamented the violent behavior of his supporters, Others felt his coming to Jos was not to seek political support but to lead the state to crises. But many residents ignore them for sake of peace.

“Some of the supporters are seen carrying sticks and other dangerous weapons during his visit to the state.

I am lucky to be alive because I was attacked by Kwankwaso supporters while doing my business outside my shop in Jos ” Emeka Andy, an Igbo business man told NEWSng in Jos

Another resident, Mr Joe Abumiku also said “We were attacked by Kwankwaso supporters because we were wearing shirts with OBIDATTI2023 inscription on it. I thought that was what provoked them but only to learn also that they have also attacked some people, who are not wearing such clothing.

“This incidents should serve as a wake up call for all political parties to conduct their campaign in a peaceful manner and to caution their supporters to be conscious of the relative peace we are enjoying on the Plateau. Violence is never the best way to projects or sell a candidate, it discredit them instead.” He said
