2023: Plateau Youths Canvass Support for Obi, Datti ticket

Plateau State youths held a rally in Jos to canvas support for the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party Mr. Peter Obi and his running mate Alhaji Ahmed Datti.

The youths described Obi and Datti as the best candidates to rule Nigeria in the 2023 general elections.

They argued that Mr Obi have the capacity, after assessing his track records as the governor of Anambra State between November 2006 to May 2007 and from June 2007 to March 2014 to make a good president for Nigeria

In May 2022, Mr Obi became the labour Party candidate for President of Nigeria come 2023 presidential elections.

Speaking to NEWSng, Mr Izang Ishaya highlighted that “A youthful president like Mr Peter can provide a lot of positive change in the Nigerian state,” adding that “we have had enough of the old hands in control of power for too long, we need a youthful candidate to change the directions of the political affairs towards economic development to meet the current digital age ” he said. 

The youths expressed disappointment in the present government over insecurity, lack of job opportunities and high cost of living as some of the weaknesses in the APC administration at the center.

Another youth also expressed his frustration saying “honestly, for the past 36 years of my life I have never been so hopeless and misguided. It is time for an inclusive government to take over. The labour party candidates are the best to take the party to the promised land in the 2023 general elections, “he added.

The rally witnessed large turnout which is an indication that the youths have risen to the occasion to be in control of governance through the polls by voting out the old leaders from office in Nigeria come 2023.
