2023: ‘Why Yobe needs a change of government’ – Bakata

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) stalwart in Yobe state, Alhaji Adamu Bakata has said that any patriotic person in Yobe state knows that the state need a change of government in the 2023 general elections.

Alhaji Adamu Bakata disclosed this in an interview with NEWSng in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, he said that Governor Mai Mala Buni has failed the people of Yobe state.

According to him, everything in Yobe state has scattered within the four years of Governor Mai Mala Buni administration in terms education, business and other social wellbeing of the people of the state.

“Any indigene of Yobe state knows that if this government of APC gets the mandate of another four years again only God knows where the state will fall into.” Bakata said.

He said, “we have a good candidate who will rescue the state from the collapse, the person who has the experience, the quality of leadership that is Malam Garba Umar Tsunami NNPP gubunatorial candidate.

“Malam Garba Umar’s coming out for this race is not because of money, he has come to rescue the people of the state, he want to bring development and progress as well as to boost the economy of Yobe state.” he said.

Alhaji Adamu Bakata maintained that, in Yobe state we are late and we are left behind in the whole 36 states we have in Nigeria, Yobe state was the backward state in terms of development in any sector, therefore, it is a high time now to get change in Yobe state.

“It was a right time now for the people of Yobe state to sit down and think about their future and for their families to vote to a good candidate who will take them away from this hardship they fall into.” he said.

He said the NNPP gubunatorial candidate, Malam Garba Umar Tsunami is the best candidate, therefore he call on the people of Yobe state to come out en-mass on 11th March, 2023 to vote for tested and trusted candidate Malam Garba Umar.

Alhaji Adamu Bakata also urged the electorates that they should know their right now, ” Your PVC is your weapon to change any person that failed you and anyone who does not have good leadership.

“Look at Gombe state now, the state which come after Yobe state with five years difference and if you go to Gombe you will see rapid development not like Yobe state no single development that marches what can be called development.” He said

Troops Repel Bandit Attack, Rescue Lower Sharia Court Judge in Katsina State

Troops have successfully repelled a bandit attack in Mahuta Village, Dandume Local Government Area (LGA), Katsina State, and rescued a prominent local judge, Mr. Rabiu Tukur, following the abduction of six residents on April 8, 2025.

Zagazola Makama informed by security sources that three attack occurred around 11:55 p.m. when armed bandits stormed the village, kidnapping six individuals, including Mr. Tukur, a 49-year-old judge with the Lower Sharia Court, Dandume.

The troops engaged the bandits in a fierce confrontation, successfully rescuing Mr. Tukur without any harm.

Efforts to locate and rescue the remaining five victims are ongoing, with security forces intensifying search and rescue operations in the surrounding areas.

Clash Between Commuters and Customs Officers Leads to Accident and Mob Violence in Maiadua, Kastina

A clash between a Customs patrol team and commuters resulted in a serious accident at Koza Village, Maiadua Local Government Area (LGA), on April 8, 2025, at around 8:35 p.m.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the Customs team was in pursuit of a commuter vehicle when the incident occurred.

In the aftermath, an angry mob set fire to the Customs camp in retaliation for the accident. The situation escalated, but the Division Police Officer (DPO) quickly mobilized police personnel to the scene to restore order.

As of now, the situation has been brought under control, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.

Bandit Attack Foiled in Musawa LGA Kastina As Nine Kidnapped Victims Rescued

In a daring rescue operation, the security forces successfully foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued nine victims from armed bandits on April 9, 2025, at approximately 1:25 a.m.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspected armed bandits, riding motorcycles, stormed Farin Dutse in Dangani, Musawa Local Government Area, and abducted several individuals.

However, the timely response from the Division Police Officer (DPO), who mobilized a Joint APC Patrol to the scene, led to a fierce gun battle with the bandits.

In the aftermath of the engagement, six females and three males were rescued and swiftly transported to the General Hospital Musawa for medical attention.

The victims are reported to be in stable condition.
