9 persons killed  after a truck loaded with sand crushed a pickup conveying women

Five women were crushed to death  when a tipper truck conveying sharp sand reportedly suffered break failure along the  Gubio road in the outskirt of Maiduguri capital.

The horrifying incident particularly took place at Shagari Lowcost Junction, where a sand-laden truck rammed into a pickup conveying women who were giong to farm.

Eye witnesses, told Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the LakeChad, that several others were also injured in the tragic incident.

One witness said that the truck which caused this road mishap was attempting to overtake another tipper, but lost control and crashed into the pickup  conveying the women.

Immediately after the fatal accident, motorists and angry mob stormed the location and burnt down the 2 tippers involved. 

Security agencies were deployed to the scene to bring the situation under control.
