Six Dead, 14 Vehicles Destroyed in Karu Bridge Inferno- Police Sources

Multiple fatal motor accident at Karu Bridge, Abuja, on Tuesday evening left six people dead and 14 vehicles destroyed in a raging inferno, a police sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama.

The sources said that the accident, which occurred at about 6:58 p.m., was caused by a Dangote trailer fully loaded with cement that suffered brake failure while heading from AYA to Nyanya. The truck lost control and crashed into stationary vehicles caught in traffic, triggering a massive fire.

Eyewitnesses reported that the impact of the crash triggered a series of blasts, sending fireballs and debris soaring hundreds of meters into the sky.

Some projectiles were flung nearly a kilometer from the crash site, causing panic among residents and road users as commuters scrambled for safety.

Police operatives and emergency response teams, including the Fire Service, swiftly intervened to contain the fire and restore order.

Six victims were pulled from the wreckage and rushed to Karu Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed them dead. Their corpses have been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary for autopsy.

Emergency responders continue to assess the situation as investigations into the cause of the incidents proceed.

At least 10 people, including a Cameroonian army lieutenant, have been killed in a Boko Haram attack on Wolgo, a locality in the Far North region of Cameroon, security sources confirmed on Tuesday.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the assailants, suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist group, stormed the area late Monday night, setting fire to military vehicles, looting ammunition, and briefly occupying a security post before withdrawing.

Cameroonian authorities have not yet disclosed the number of casualties among the attackers, but the Cameroonian military has launched counter-offensives in response.

ISWAP Insurgents Kill One, Injure Two in Damboa Attack

Suspected ISWAP terrorists ambushed three men returning from Ba’ale Village in Damboa Local Government Area (LGA), killing one and injuring two others.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred when Bula Sanda (35), Kadai Hamza, and Kadai Mustapha, who had gone to collect Baobab tree seeds.

Tragically, Bula Sanda was shot dead, while Hamza sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand, and Mustapha was wounded in the right thigh.

A vigilante leader, Alhaji Mala, reported the incident to security forces, leading to the victims’ evacuation to General Hospital Damboa.

The deceased was later released to his family for Islamic burial rites.

The security agencies have discourage locals from venturing into unsecured bush areas, especially places that have not been approved by the Nigerian military.

Man Arrested for Allegedly Demolishing Wife’s House with a bulldozer in Ekiti

The Police in Ekiti state has arrested a man, Barrister Donald Femi Fajuyi, for allegedly demolishing his wife’s house with a bulldozer.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on March 23, 2025, at Fajuyi Road, Ado-Ekiti, while his wife, Bukola Olanrewaju Fajuyi, was away at church.

The suspect stormed the residence with a group of hoodlums and heavy machinery, bringing down the entire structure and destroying valuables.

Upon receiving the report, Police from New Iyin Divisional l visited the crime scene, documented the damage, and launched an investigation.

The sources said that the suspect has been arrested, while the value of the damaged property is yet to be determined.
