Access Road: Yobe residents commend Governor Buni

Residents of Yobe State have commended Governor Mai Mala Buni CON for the construction of access roads across various parts of the state.

The residents made the commendation in separate interviews during an inspection tour organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe Council.

Malam Kaku Kafayo, a resident of Tagali, Bade local government area, said the 10-kilometer Chumbusko-Tagali road had made life easier for them.

“Before the provision of the road, we could hardly transport our farm produce to various markets within and outside the state, and now we are happy to be connected to the other part of the state” Kafayo said.

Malam Samaila Tagali, a motorist, also commended the governor and appealed for storage facilities for the preservation and storage of their produce.

Also speaking, Alhaji Muhammadu Chukuriwa, the village head of Chukuriwa in Nangere local government area, commended Governor Buni for the 16-km Dawasa, Chukuriwa, and Kukuri art road.

He revealed that the road has linked several villages along the route with the major town of Potiskum.

Alhaji Muhammadu also commended the governor and the commissioner for works, Engr. Umar Wakil Duddaye, for the construction of Juma’at Mosque in Chukuriwa town.

Malam Ishaku Ado, the Masaya of Kukuri, also expressed appreciation for the project, adding that the people of the three communities will remain grateful for the Commissioner of Works, who has facilitated the project.

In Fika, the vice chairman of the local government, Malam Ahmed Abubakar, said this is one of the projects being jubilated by the entire population of this locality.

“Because it has taken some decades before its actualization. That is why it is very historic and a legacy to this administration.

He added that the project had linked about five wards and three local government areas in Fika, Gujba, and Gulani, respectively.

In his remarks, NUJ Chairman Comrade Rajab Muhammed Ismail expressed appreciation for the projects, commended Governor Mai Mala Buni CON for his outstanding performance, and called on other governors to emulate the governor for the overall development of the country.
