Adamawa lawmaker donates 10 vehicles to Tinubu’s campaign

Rep. Abdurazak Namdas (APC-Adamawa), on Saturday, donated 10 vehicles to the Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shetima presidential campaign team.

Namdas who represents Jada/Ganye/Tongo/Mayo Belwa Federal Constituency is also the Secretary, Logistics and Support Services of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Speaking during the presentation of the vehicles in Ganye, Namdas said the gesture was part of his contribution to ensure victory of the party in 2023 presidential election.

He described Tinubu as credible politician who possessed wealth of experience to lift Nigeria to a greater height.

“We are here to kick start our camping process at individual level as part of our contribution to ensure the victory Bola Tinibu and the APC in general.

“Tinubu had built Lagos from nothing to something, as he has the experience to make Nigerian youths creative, vibrant and productive.

He urged the electorates to support the APC, vote for Tinubu and other candidates of the party.

The Adamawa PCC Coordinator, Mr Martin Babale commended the gesture, and assured of the Council readiness to work for the success of the party.

He said the party would sweep poll across the 265 electoral wards in the state, and urged Nigerians who are yet to receive their Permanent Voter Card (PVCs) to do so to enable them exercise their franchise.

Aldo speaking, Mr Adamu Samaila, the Adamawa South senatorial candidate of the party, expressed optimism for APC victory at all levels in the state.

He said the APC-led government had performed creditably well in the area ov security, infrastructure and youth empowerment.

Police arrest three among deadly gangs over killing of passenger in Plateau

The police in Plateau have arrested three notorious suspects in connection with the killing of a female passenger during an attack on a commercial motorcycle in Butura Kampani village, Bokkos Local Government Area.

Zagazola Makama report that the incident occurred on Aug. 26 when gunmen attacked a motorcyclist, Mangut Matthew, and two of his female passengers, resulting in the death of one of the women.

“Following credible intelligence, three suspects have been arrested. They are Benjamin Daniel, a.k.a Allamis; Jerry Reuben; and Monday Darah, a.k.a Terror, all of Bokkos town.

“The suspects have made useful statements to the police, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang and recover their operational arms,”said sources.

The sources assured that the command remained committed to ensuring the perpetrators of violent crimes in the state faced justice.

Farmer shot dead on his farm in Benue

A farmer, Oryiman Kwagher, has been shot dead while working on his farm in Logo Local Government Area of Benue.

Zagazola learnt that the incident, which occurred on Thursday morning at about 10:30 a.m., happened in Akwanna, a border community between Benue and Taraba states.

Eyewitnesses said the farmer was attacked by yet-to-be-identified assailants while tending to his crops.

His body was later evacuated and deposited at Ayilamo mortuary.

Residents of the area described the killing as shocking and called for urgent measures to improve security in the border communities.

Police say investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing is ongoing.

Boko Haram attack passenger bus in Borno, five injured

Suspected Boko Boko Haram terrorists on Thursday ambushed a commercial bus along Maiduguri–Banki road, injuring five passengers.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. in Wudila, a deserted village near Banki, according to security sources.

The sources said the attackers opened fire on a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ASU-255-XA, driven by Mustapha Adam, 50, of Wajare, Banki. The driver sustained a gunshot wound on his back.

Other injured passengers include Musa Mohammed, 41, of Taradal Banki, who sustained bullet wounds on his left hand; Mohammed Bukar Gaji, 61, of Wajare, who fractured his hand after falling from the vehicle; Modu Usman, 35, of Amchide in Cameroon, who sustained gunshot injuries on his neck; and Mohammed Adam, 32, of Bama, who suffered internal injuries on his ribs.

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI were mobilised to the scene for rescue operations. The insurgents fled the area before security reinforcements arrived.

Sources said all victims were evacuated to the FHI 360 Clinic in Banki, where three were treated and discharged, while two others remain hospitalised and are responding to treatment.

No death or loss of property was recorded in the attack, while additional troops have been deployed to reinforce safety along the route.
