APC holds peaceful Congress, returns former executives in Borno

Borno state has taken to the path of peace in its just concluded Congress of All Progressive Congress in the state.

The Congress returns all 36 members of the outgoing state executive held for a second term.

It was earlier rumour that political under play will see to a battle lines being drawn among political stakeholders but show of maturity and running towards peaceful Congress as demonstrated by party stakeholders once again put Borno state in the front banner for others to emulate.

The affirmative election was led by the chairman of the Congressional Committee for Borno, Uba Maigari.

Borno House of Assembly Speaker Abdulkarim Lawan put forward a motion for the affirmation of candidates through voice votes and was seconded by Hon. Abdullahi Askira.

Speaking on development, Maigari praised the maturity and unity displayed by party members and stakeholders in Borno and urged them to continue uniting as a family to take the state to greater heights.

In his remarks, Governor Babagana Zulum called for lasting unity and assured that his administration would continue to work for a more united party in the state.

He equally thank members and stakeholders for the demonstration of zeal to see that APC remains a home for all particularly in Borno state.

Speaking on behalf of the re-elected leaders, party chairman Ali Dalori thanked members for the confidence shown in them and assured that they would not disappoint the party.
