Chairman Editorial Board, Ebony Herald Magazine, Ambassador Mohammed Kabir Ilyasu has observed the lingering crises between ASSU and Government may continue for a while given that fact that there are division among its members.

He said “going through our news platform and came across the article on NANS protest. I have for some time held the view that ASUU needs to be told some home truth. Government cannot meet all its demands. They must use their Association like Cooperative to raise money and venture into business. There is no law stopping it from generating money for its members.”

He said all this issues about money can only be solved when ASSU began to speak with one voice.

“They are not even carrying their students in the struggle. That doesn’t speak well of them. Their main concern should be the students and their welfare. They’re advocating it without showing it in reality. We Nigerians are also stakeholders in this matter. All their meetings with government is shrouded in secret. We need to know for support.

“Equally, their members are divided. You see, they have a lot of rot hidden that they do not want the public to know. There must be a way to smoke them out.

Nigerians quest for certificate must not be blindsided. We must understand what it means to have a certificate and its usage.” Ambassador Mohammed said
