Bandits Attack Five Villages in Kebbi, Kill 10, Injure Several Others

Suspected bandits, identified as Lakurawa terrorists, launched coordinated attacks on five villages in Arewa Local Government Area of Kebbi State, killing at least 10 people and injuring several others.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the affected villages include Birnin Debi, Garin Nagoro, Yar Goru, Dan Marke, and Tambo.

The terrorists stormed the villages around 8:48 p.m. on March 9, 2025, setting houses ablaze and shooting indiscriminately. Among the deceased was Garba Maigari (50), while the identities of the other nine victims remain unknown.

Several injured victims have been taken to Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi, for treatment, while the corpses of the deceased have been deposited for autopsy.

In response, the Nigerian troops, Police and local vigilantes have been deployed to the affected areas, and normalcy has reportedly been restored.

DSS Arrests Man Who Used Own Social Media Handle To Canvass Military Coup

The Department of State Services (DSS) has trailed to Oyigbo, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and arrested one Innocent Chukwuma who used his social media handle to rally the military to overthrow the current government.

Posting on his “X” handle “@TheAgroman,” Chukwuma stated that a coup was needed in Nigeria and called on the military to “suspend the Nigerian government.”

He posted, “A coup in Nigeria is needed.
Dispose of APC, suspend the Nigerian Government, and join the AES. That is all we need now.
“It will happen eventually. Nigerians, the military needs your support now! Only them can save this country.
“The bastard in Aso Rock has basically sold this country to the West, and they run our intelligence apparatus. Only the military can reset this country. Support them,” Chukwuma posted.

A source disclosed that the suspect is cooperating with DSS investigators.

One killed, four injured in farmers-herders clash in Gombe

One person has been confirmed dead and four others injured following a clash between farmers and herders in Komi District, Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Zagazola Makama learnt that the incident occurred on Oct. 26, 2025, at about 6:15 p.m., during a fracas that erupted as a result of a disagreement between farmers and herders in the area.

During the altercation, Mohammed Jibrin, aged 27, a farmer from Komi District, sustained serious injuries, while three other farmers and one herder suffered minor injuries.

Police operatives led by the O/C Wawa swiftly visited the scene, and the critically injured victim was taken to General Hospital Biri, Nafada LGA, where he later died while receiving treatment. His remains were released to the family for burial according to Islamic rites.

The other injured persons were treated and discharged at Wawa Primary Health Care Centre, Funakaye LGA.

The police said normalcy has been restored to the area, while monitoring continues to prevent further escalation.

Police arrest UNIJOS student for killing, burying colleague in shallow grave

The Police Command in Plateau has arrested a 23-year-old student of the University of Jos for allegedly killing and burying his colleague in a shallow grave inside his room at Rusau village in Jos North Local Government Area.

Sources confirmed the incident on Sunday in Jos, citing a report received from the institution’s Chief Security Officer.

According to the sources , the suspect, identified as David Nanpon Timmap, a 300-level student of the university, allegedly attacked and matcheted Peter Mata Mafurai, aged 22, to death in his residence.

Following the distress call received at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Divisional Police Officer of Laranto Division led a team of officers to the scene, where the suspect was arrested.

The sources said investigations revealed that the suspect buried the deceased in a shallow grave he dug inside his room. The remains of the victim were exhumed and deposited at Bingham University Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The sources said the suspect is in custody while an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the motive behind the killing.
