Bandits kill 5 including 82 year old Monarch in Zamfara

Bandits have killed five persons, including 82-year-old Head of Gada District, Alhaji Umar Allah, in Bungudu Local Council, Zamfara State, northwest Nigeria.
The bandits, who burnt down the palace, also abducted many people, including women and children in the community.
It was gathered that the late district head was a father to over 30 children and many grandchildren.

Addressing journalists yesterday, the Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkana, said the police tactical team deployed to the affected town rescued nine victims from the bandits.
To tame insecurity across the country, former Army Intelligence Officer, Col. Hassan Stan-Labo (rtd.), has asked the Federal Government to deploy drones.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ yesterday, Stan-Labo said “technology is not playing the needed role” in the North East.
Aside drones deployment, Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has promised to assist any interested resident of the state to acquire arms for self-defence, as Islam permits it.
