Armed bandits have killed two people, abducted 25 others, and rustled an unspecified number of cattle during coordinated attacks on two villages in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Zagazola Makama learnt that the attacks occurred late Friday night, around 10:30 p.m., when the assailants, armed with AK-47 rifles and other dangerous weapons, invaded Dogon Daji village in Nahuche District.

During the raid, the attackers abducted 25 persons, including men, women, and children, and rustled several cattle. They also killed one Muhammadu Kasu, a local blacksmith known for repairing villagers’ Dane guns, and made away with a motorcycle.

The bandits later proceeded to Danguro village within the same LGA, where they killed another resident, Aminu Abubakar, and stole five motorcycles before fleeing to an unknown destination.

Following a distress alert, troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA and other security forces responded to the scene and confirmed the incident.

Sources said efforts are ongoing to rescue the abducted victims, recover the rustled livestock, and track down the perpetrators.
