Bandits Kill Two Villagers in Kankara, Katsina State

Armed bandits have killed two villagers in Tudu Village, Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, following an attack on March 25, 2025.
The attack happened at about 11am, but-in response, the troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA were deployed mobilized to confront the criminals.
During the operation, the bandits shot and killed two residents, identified as Nasiru Chinnaka and Kamilu Mamman.
The victims’ bodies were evacuated to General Hospital Kankara.

Armed men kill herder, rustle cattle in Kaduna attack

Suspected cattle rustlers have killed a herder and stolen an unspecified number of cattle during an attack on a Ruga settlement in Joga Village, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday when armed men wielding sophisticated weapons stormed the settlement belonging to the late Alhaji Tambaya.
The sources said that security forces were deployed to the scene to contain the situation.
One Sani Muhammed Tambaya, 30, was found with deep machete cuts to the neck and shoulder. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Security forces said efforts were ongoing to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen cattle.

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted three persons, including a clergyman, at Bauda Village in Maro Community, Kajuru Local Government Area.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the victims, Rev. Anthony Lamba, 50, of ECWA Church Bauda Village, Christiana Anthony, and Danlami Zana, were seized while working on their farm on Friday afternoon.
Security forces were immediately mobilised to the scene, but the kidnappers had already fled with the victims to an unknown destination.
Efforts had been intensified to rescue the victims unhurt, while investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Man kills ex-girlfriend’s mother, injures ex in machete attack on Borno farm

Tragedy struck in Dille District of Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on Saturday when a man identified as Abubakar Ijidai allegedly attacked his former girlfriend and her mother on their farm, killing the mother and leaving the daughter critically injured.
The incident, which occurred at about 3:00 p.m., involved 18-year-old Lami Azuba and her 38-year-old mother, Hauwa Azuba, who had gone to their farm when they were accosted and attacked with a machete.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the assailant, who hails from the same district, fled immediately after the attack, leaving both women in pools of blood.
According to police sources, officers from the Lassa Police Outpost visited the scene and evacuated the victims to the General Hospital in Lassa.
“Unfortunately, Hauwa Azuba was certified dead on arrival by the attending doctor, while her daughter, Lami, was referred to the General Hospital in Mubi, Adamawa State, for further treatment due to the severity of her injuries,” the report stated.
The body of the deceased was photographed and released to the family for burial in accordance with Christian rites.
Community members have called for swift justice as Police say efforts are ongoing to apprehend him for diligent prosecution.
