Benue police arrest suspect over killing of repentant bandit

One suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a repentant bandit along Sankera Zaki-Biam Road in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.

The deceased, identified as Kyoga Joka, was reportedly traced and shot dead by two armed men riding a motorcycle. Eyewitnesses linked the assailants to Chen, a notorious bandit leader.

Following the incident on Sept. 29, authorities recovered the corpse and deposited it at the General Hospital Mortuary, Zaki-Biam.

One Teryila Kpogh, alleged member of Chen’s gang, has been apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the other perpetrators.

Sources say the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) is investigating the case, with further developments expected to be communicated.
