Benue: Security forces repel bandits’ attack in Tse-Abur village, one soldier injured

Security forces and Civilian Joint Task Force repelled an armed bandits’ attack in Tse-Abur village, Ukum Local Government Area, Benue State, on May 26, 2025.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that at about 0900 hours, seven armed bandits in a dark blue Peugeot 504 with tinted windows opened fire on Mobile Police men stationed in the community.

The combined security forces responded swiftly, engaging the bandits in a heavy exchange of gunfire.

Some of the attackers, believed to be local bandits, were reportedly wounded as they fled the scene along with their vehicle.

However, Sergeant Dakiki Vilyit of 45 PMF Abuja sustained a bullet wound on his left leg and was immediately rushed to General Hospital Ugba. He is currently responding to treatment.
