Borno Former Commissioner for Information Loses Sister in Lagos, buried in Abuja.

Former commissioner for home affairs, information and Culture Borno state, Mr. Inuwa Bwala has lost his younger sister, Mrs. Fibi Akawu Bwala.

Late Mrs. Fibi was a serving officer with the Nigerian Customs Service at the Tincan Island Command. She was also the leader of the women fellowship at the Evangelical Church for West Africa, ECWA in Badagry, Lagos State.

Speaking at her funeral service on Saturday at ECWA Church Mararaba in Karu local government area of Nassarawa State, Rev. Emmanuel Tizhe of the ECWA Church Badagry, who reads from Isaiah 57: 1 and 2 described late Fibi as a sister he dearly missed.

“She was 51 and I am 52. She calls me “Baban my” and I call her ” Maman mu”. Ordinarily the sickness that took her life can not be said to be a killing sickness, but all shall die in one way or the other and there is no premature death but an appointed one.” He said.

He, therefore, urged people to live a righteous life as no one knows the day nor the hour for which death shall come.

While giving testimonies during the funeral service of late Fibi Bwala, representative of the Nigerian Customs Service Badagry described late Fibi as
quiet, calm and dedicated to her work.

“She served her God and I have not seen her with any enemy “

The representative of the women’s fellowship says she was a blessing to all women in the sister’s fellowship.

“She was a transformed human being. She was cool and her light shines in her good works. We really missed her. This year she said she is not going to hold grudges with anyone and it was as if she was preparing herself for her exit. ” The women representative said.

Also speaking her husband Mr. Balami said, he never knew he will be standing before the Church to speak about his late wife as he had to stand today to speak.

According to him, ” I first saw my late wife through her senior brother my late friend. I have never lost anyone so dear to me like this. My parents are still alive. We got married in 1992 but got separated for 9 years. God in his mercies arrested me and I became born again from where we both realized our mistake and move to reunite. Since then we have lived by the leading of the Lord and pray together. I am saddened but also happy with what God has done. Saddened because she had to look be me at this time. But happy because I know she is with the Lord.”

The Church Secretary and her colleague in the office, Mr. Stanley Iliya say Fibi’s time is up. She was someone so nice. She likes people. She has brought up other children and one can hardly differentiate her own biological child from the others.

“She has contributed a lot to the growth of the church and as a women leader demonstrated exemplary leadership. Everyone was devastated by her death. Mr. Stanley Iliya said.
