Borno: NATA denies collecting N20,000 from members over site allocation
Nigerian Automobile and Technicians Association (NATA), Borno State Chapter, has distanced itself from the allegations of collecting of N20, 000 each from its members for the allocation of site at the newly proposed site provided to the association by the Borno State Government.
The association also faulted the presentation of membership ID cards and uniforms by members to secure allocation of site at the new garage as speculated by some executive members of three units of the association which are presently under investigation by a Standing Disciplinary Committee.
The State Chairman of NATA, Borno State , Engineer Hussaini Musa who stated this on Saturday during a press briefing in Maiduguri, warned that the association would not tolerate such misconduct.

He denied all the rumours making the rounds against the state executive members that each member must pay N20,000 before a site would be allocated.
“The association has a total membership of 16,720 members across the 27 LGCs of the state but the state government pledged to provide them with a site presently along Damboa Road for members in Tashan Kano, Damboa Road and Maddaganari Units, then subsequently, units along Kano-Jis Road, Bama Road, Baga and Mafa roads will benefit from the allocation accordingly”.he explained
Engr. Musa, however, said that the only money being contributed by the registered members across the state include N200 monthly due and N5000 from offenders as penalty, while describing the information and rumours in circulation as false, baseless and unfounded.
