Buni expends N4.1B as a palliative for workers.

In response to the current hardship arising from the fuel subsidy removal, Yobe state government to expend $4.1 billion as palliative to workers and pensioners in the state.

Governor Mai Mala Buni CON has recently approved the payment of $699,450,000 as palliative for both civil servants and pensioners on the payroll of the state and local governments on a monthly basis.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Chief Information Officer, Office of the Head of Service, Alhassan Sule Mamudo.

The statement revealed that the sum of $10,000 for civil servants and $5,000 for pensioners for a period of six months, which commenced last month in February, The cumulative total shall be in the sum of #4.1billion.

The monthly standing payment for gratuity was recently revised from $100 million to $200 million. Similarly, a sum of $708 million was recently released for the payment of gratuities for local government retirees.

Therefore, the Governor Mai Mala Buni administration places a high premium on the welfare of its civil servants.

The statement further calls for support and cooperation from Governor Buni’s administration to enhance effective service delivery and improve the lives of the people of Yobe State.

Ifelodun LG imposes 24 hour curfew across Oro-Ago District for clearance operation

A 24 hour curfew has been imposed on the entire Oro- ago District of Ifelodun council Area, Chairman Abdulrasheed Yusuf said in a statement recently.

The curfew which took effect from 6 am on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, was imposed in a coordinated effort by the council in conjunction with security agencies to put terrorists in disarray, take them out by combing the area and protecting lives and property of residents.

The statement signed by Abdulquadri Jimba who is the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Ifelodun council area noted that “Within this period, there will be no human or vehicular traffic in the entire district.

“This is in support of the ongoing security clearance operation in the area. Further reviews of this measure will be communicated,” the statement noted.
