Buni flag off 4km road construction in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has today flagging off the construction of the 4 kilometers Nguru-Gashua Federal Highway to Karasuwa Galu in the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Buni said the construction of the road is in continuation of his administration drive to provide infrastructure to open up communities for socio-economic growth and prosperity in the state.

“When completed it would enhance easy transportation of goods and services to and from the benefitting communities especially farm produce such as Millet, Guinea corn, Beans, Sesame and Melon Seeds among others which are produced in large commercial quantities.” Buni said.

The project is awarded to GREYLAND Multiple Investment Ltd, the company has a track record of good work and strict compliance with contractual specifications as well as completion of projects within the agreed time frame.

The project is awarded to a total sum of #1,350,292,445.89 with a completion period of six monthly and call on the company to strictly abide by the contractual terms signed with the government of Yobe state.

He directed the state Ministry of Works to carry out adequate supervision for the government to have value for its money.

The governor condole and commiserate with the good people of Karasuwa local government over the sad loss of the late council chairman, Hon. Lawan Gana Karasuwa who has made selfless sacrifices and contributions to this community Karasuwa local government council and Yobe state in general.

Governor Buni revealed that, this project will no doubt fulfill the dream of the late chairman and indeed, all sons and daughters of Karasuwa Galu as well as other neighbouring communities who will benefit from this project.

He urged the communities to support the government and the contractor to execute this road project successfully and also call on our people to pray to Almighty Allah to bless us with good rainfall that is suitable for a bountiful cropping season and to protect us from flood.
