Buni Sets New Record, Becomes First Governor To Create Min. Of Livestock Development

In a strategic move aimed at revitalising Yobe’s livestock sector and benefit maximally from Federal Government’s new Ministry of Livestock Development, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has created a similar ministry for enhanced coordination of activities.

The Governor made the announcement today and directed for the immediate deployment of staff and provision of office accommodation for the new ministry.

This is a demonstration of a rare gumption in the management of the State’s endowed resources.

The new ministry if properly managed has the potential of boosting the State’s IGR, create Thousands of jobs and bring farmer/herders conflict in the State to a halt.

Also, the new ministry will play a pivotal role in helping the State to diversify its revenue streams and eliminate the potential threats posed by the controversial Tax Reform Bills to Northern States.

We are hopeful that an experienced person, well-grounded will be assigned to man the new ministry so that the essence for which it was created will not be defeated.
