CP Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina psc, assures Plateau residents of their safety.

In a bidlto encourage citizen involvement in policing our communities, the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, psc has carried out a series of community engagements/stakeholders meetings in the past few months which have started yielding the desired result in the state.

Consequent upon this, the Command has received a credible intelligence from a good and peace loving citizen of the State which has resulted in the arrest of a suspected bandit and the recovery of firearms on 11/07/2024.

According to the report, a suspected bandit with bullet wounds was seen receiving treatment within a locality in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Upon receipt of this report, the DPO Bassa division and his team under the instruction of the Commissioner of Police immediately mobilized and raced to the scene, identified the house and carried out a raid of the house. During the operation, one Isma’il Isa, a 36 year old male from Kissayhip ‘B’ Methodists, was arrested and the following exhibits were recovered from his possession; one AK-47 rifle with Breach No. 5509100, loaded with 30 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

In another development, the Plateau State Police Command received an intelligence report from Bukier Village Bokkos Local Government Area, reporting that on 11/07/2024 at about 1:00pm, some cattle rearers were returning to their tents with their cattle when a number of unidentified hoodlums attacked them and carted away their cattle numbering over one hundred (100).

Upon receipt of this information, our gallant operatives from Bokkos Division led by the Divisional Police Officer swiftly raced to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel, Due to our superior fire power, one of the hoodlums was neutralized, while others escaped with severe bullet wounds. The cattle were successfully recovered and the corpse was deposited at Luna Hospital morgue.

The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, psc, wishes to assure all citizens of Plateau State that the Command under his watch will continue to do everything within the ambits of its constitutional powers to ensure that all residents of Plateau State are safe. He further pledges his commitment to sustaining the peace currently being enjoyed on the Plateau.
