Security forced foil kidnapping attempt in katsina, rescue two victims

The Katsina State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt and rescued two victims during a late-night operation in Dandume Local Government Area.

Zagazola learnt that the incident occurred on May 5, 2025, at about 11:15 p.m. when armed men suspected to be bandits attacked Sabuwar Angwa near Hawan Idi village, on the outskirts of Dandume town.

Upon receiving the distress call, a joint patrol teams were dispatched to the scene, where they engaged the assailants in a gun duel and overpowered them.

As a result, two kidnapped persons were successfully rescued, while one victim, Salisu Sani, sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand.

He was promptly taken to the General Hospital in Dandume for treatment.

Five persons sustained varying degrees of gunshot injuries when armed bandits opened fire on a moving vehicle in Zamfara State.

Zagazola Makama report that the incident occurred on May 5, 2025, when the bandits attempted to stop a Golf 3 car in transit. The driver, however, refused to halt, prompting the assailants to shoot at the vehicle.

Sources said all five occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were promptly evacuated to the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital for medical treatment.

Security personnel who visited the scene have intensified efforts to track and apprehend the fleeing attackers.

Bandits kill one, injure another in Katsina vigilante patrol ambush

One person was confirmed dead while another sustained injuries when suspected armed bandits attacked members of a local vigilante group during a patrol in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Zagazola Makama report that the incident occurred on May 4 at about 4:05 p.m., shortly after a security coordination meeting involving vigilante members from Malumfashi, Kafur, Bakori, and Kankara LGAs held at the Kankara LGA Secretariat.

Two vigilantes, identified as Salisu Barde, 60, and Sule Abdul, 50, were injured in the ambush along the Kankara–Sheme road.

Security forces were promptly deployed a patrol team to the scene and evacuated the victims to the General Hospital in Kankara, where Salisu Barde was later confirmed dead.

Security sources have intensified efforts to arrest the fleeing attackers.
