Doppelganger in Biu

A well thought out plan that has come to reality to have Nigerian Army University first of its kind on the African continent I supposed.

The university is in Borno state; located and situated on the Biu- Plateau. Established in 2018 by the Federal Government through the Nigerian Army as a public university with all the rights and privileges accorded and enjoyed by any public tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) is changing the economic and educational face of Biu and its environs adding more value to commerce and social activities to its host community.

When I was in Biu recently on an official assignment for my company Sprezzatura Publishers Limited, I decided to take time out and went around town to ask questions in order to confirm the good things I heard about this institution of learning which I later found out that most were true.

I personally nosed around the university administrative block, students’ hostels, staff residential quarters, and some places that matter to me within the campus.

Thus, what I saw and heard immediately poised me between two systems of administration- army on the one side, civilians on the other; a juxtaposition in the management of the university which has created a doppelganger in the Nigerian Army University in Biu, and you are sandwiched in between two administrators in a state of doppelganger hatched by the management where you see the striking resemblance but with different methods, styles and techniques of doing things culminating into sharp contrast of personalities managing the affairs of the university in question. I hope and believe this will and shall not snowball into something unpleasant.
