The National Obstetric Fistula Center Ningi is experiencing a new phase of development and changes following the appointment of Dr. Halima Mukaddas as the substantive Chief Medical Director recently by President Muhammadu Buhari. 

Her appointment has brought to limelight and to the notice of the public NOFIC Ningi which has been in a state of obscurity to many out there. Dr. Halima Mukaddas efforts in changing the phase of this specialists hospital of Urogynaecology is fast becoming Central to the people of Ningi and Bauchi State as a whole.

NEWSng in its usual news craving for human and capital development that are not yet carried out or feature to the members of the public by the media takes a look at the efforts put by the new CMD to turn the tides. Indeed, the ideas brought in and the activities of this medical Center that specialized in the treatment of Urogynaecological ailments calls for a pat on the back for Dr. Mukaddas. 

In it’s observation, however, it was learnt that the Center is not limited to the treatment of this disease only. The new CMD has established General Out – patient Department ( OPD) that most people of Ningi had been yarning for all the years goneby.

NEWSng reports that Dr. Mukaddas administration as CMD is beginning to yield results, her foresight towards providing health services at the Center is putting smiles on the faces of staff , Ningi  community and its environs .

” The Out – patient Department will go a long way in assisting simply treatment of illness that will be attended by experts ” said a stakeholder, who identify himself simply as Adamu Ningi.

Sources verified by NEWSng also revealed that Dr. Halima Mukadas is the first female CMD of the only Urogynaecological hospital in the North east region ( NOFIC ) Ningi.

The CMD was able to create a good working relationship with all the department of the Center including the Medical Health Worker’s Union of NOFIC Ningi chapter as to ensure productivity in the hospital. There was also the rebranding of the Centers logo that speaks of what they do as a specialized medical Center. 

Dr. Halima Mukaddas also renewed the Center relationships with International NGOs to partner with them in carrying out the programs and activities of the hospital for humanity. She has made it possible for the public to know of NOFIC Ningi with the maiden edition of a news bulletin.

Challenges confronting the Center are basically lack of sufficient funds, residential quarters for doctors and nurses. Lack of modern high – tech medical equipment also is in need.

 ” Most of us working in this medical facility are residing outside the premises of this Center but there is hope with the new CMD. Dr. Halima Mukaddas is up and doing because the hospital means a lot to her as a medical doctor and administrator”. Informed Sources revealed.

“We believe that Dr. Mukaddas objectives is in line with the motto of the Center : ‘Service, Hope and Smile.’ Another source said.
