Three suspected drug peddlers have been arrested in Abuja following a series of coordinated raids on identified black spots, leading to the recovery of various illicit substances.

Zagazola Makama gathered from police sources that the suspects, identified as Ahmed Lawal, Joy Josiah, and Sule Nuhu, were apprehended on June 23 at Dutse Alhaji’s Limpopo Street and behind the MTN Office in Maitama, following actionable intelligence.

During the operation, large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, sachets of a substance known as “Ghana Loud,” eight sachets of Arizona, and several tablets of a drug locally referred to as “Moly” were recovered from the suspects.

The source said that the raid was part of an ongoing effort to clamp down on narcotics distribution and abuse in the Federal Capital Territory.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing interrogation, while the seized substances have been documented as exhibits pending further investigation and prosecution.
