Education Appeal Fund: Over N102m realize at the launching in Potiskum

Over one hundred and two million naira was realized at the launching of Potiskum Local Government Education Recovery Appeal Fund in Yobe state.

In his welcome address, the chief host who is also the chairman of Potiskum local government, Alhaji Salisu Muktari thanked the people for finding time to come and grace this occasion.

He calls on the people, men and women, to donate generously to the state education trust fund with a view to provide qualitative education in the state.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion and member representing Potiskum central in Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon Abdullahi Adamu Bazuwa said Potiskum local government area is the largest local government in Yobe state.

“It could be recalled that in 2014 during governor Ibrahim Gaidam administration, the government recruited 2000 teachers, and Potiskum  local government alone was responsible for 1,400 out of the 2000. This is because of our population and the number of graduates we have in the local government.” He said

Hon. Abdullahi Bazuwa said education is a key to social service, and all responsible governments must provide for their citizens. Communities are equally responsible for the establishment, enrollment, supervision and maintenance of schools in their localities.

He urged the people to come and donate generously to the Potiskum local government education recovery appeal fund in order to provide qualitative education in the state.

The chief launcher, Senator Ibrahim Muhammed Bomai launch with #10 million, follow by Alhaji Umaru Abdulmalik, Managing Director/CEO AUM Multilink Merchandise Ltd, #5 million, while the Minister of Power, Engr Abubakar D Aliyu mobilized donations of over #45 million.
