President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, Sardaunan Bade, Yobe North Senatorial District, has called on Nigerians to embrace the spirit of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.

Senator Ahmed Lawan disclosed this in his Sallah Message to Nigerians; it was made available to newsmen in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.

He said the Eid celebration presents Nigerians with yet another opportunity for deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and strengthening of our bond as a nation.

According to Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Muslim festival serves as a reminder for citizens to continually imbibe the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.

The President of the Ninth Senate message to Nigerians reads, “I join millions of Nigerians, particularly my Muslim brothers and sisters, in celebrating the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

“This festival, one of the most important in the Islamic calendar, commemorates the faith and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his willingness to offer his son, Ismail (AS), as a demonstration of his submission to Allah (SWT).

“Eid-el-kabir is a time for deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and the strengthening of our bond as a nation. It reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and unity.

“As we celebrate, let us also use this period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity for our dear country, Nigeria. Let us also seize the moment to pray for the success of our Armed Forces as they tackle insecurity across the nation.

“I urge all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence during and after this festival. Let us work together to build a harmonious and prosperous nation where all citizens can live and thrive regardless of our diversity.

“I wish all Muslims and Nigerians a blessed and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
