In an inspiring demonstration of his unwavering commitment to education, Engr. Alex has sponsored the registration fees for 127 students at Government Secondary School Marama, enabling them to sit for the 2025 WAEC and NECO examinations. This marks the fourth consecutive year of Engr. Alex’s philanthropic efforts to support the academic journeys of young people in the community.

The sponsorship, which began with just 20 students in the first year, has steadily grown, with 50 students supported in the second year and 100 students in the third. This year’s support for 127 students represents a significant increase, highlighting Engr. Alex’s deep commitment to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder academic opportunities for students from less privileged backgrounds.

At the sponsorship ceremony, Engr. Alex highlighted the transformative power of education. “By sponsoring the examination fees, we are removing financial barriers that might prevent students from reaching their full potential,” he said. “Education is the foundation of success, and these students have the ability to achieve great things if given the right opportunities.”

In addition to covering the WAEC and NECO examination fees, Engr. Alex made an exciting new promise: He pledged to sponsor six best-performing students into university, covering their tuition fees for courses in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, and Medicine. He further promised to secure their admission into these programs, providing them with a clear pathway to pursue higher education in these fields and empowering them to achieve their academic and professional dreams.

“I believe in the potential of these students, and I want to give the brightest among them the chance to achieve their academic and professional dreams,” Engr. Alex said. “By investing in their futures, we are investing in the future of our community.”

The students selected for sponsorship have successfully passed an aptitude test, and Engr. Alex’s support will allow them to focus on their studies without worrying about the financial demands of the exams. His initiative not only alleviates the financial pressure on parents but also gives students a fair chance to succeed and make their dreams a reality.

Engr. Alex’s sponsorship serves as an inspiration to the wider community, urging others to contribute to the improvement of education through acts of philanthropy, whether by sponsoring students, supporting school projects, or offering mentorship.

To the 127 students, Engr. Alex stressed the importance of hard work and dedication. “Your future success depends on your commitment to your studies,” he said. “Use this opportunity wisely, and make the most of the education you are receiving.”

He also called on parents to remain actively involved in their children’s education, providing guidance and support to ensure their children stay focused and avoid distractions.

The sponsorship ceremony was attended by Honourable LGA Chairman Hon. Hussaini Malgwi, ably represented by the LGA secretary. Ward Councilor Hon. Barka Iliyasu Yidawi, distinguished educators, community leaders, and parents, all of whom commended Engr. Alex for his dedication to improving the educational prospects of the youth in the region.
